This is a Great Guitar Neck is fast C shape gives it just enough chunk for doing chords as well as any lead style. Yes, the neck is smooth and quick The back of the neck is a really slick, smooth wood finish. I guess it's a light satin. All I know it's the smoothest feeling wood finish on the back of the neck I've ever used. All the fret ends came rounded and smooth. The jumbo frets are rounded on the top to where your finger does not get caught on the fret at all. My fingers glide over the frets and never get hung up on the fret top at all. The neck is really fast and smooth. String spacing for me is perfect. I can play all cords without getting in the way of the other strings with my fingers. This is a Great Guitar for blues and jazz, Rock and Roll and of course Christian music which is what I play the most. The pick ups are fat sounding and at the same time nice in response. One of the best sounding pickups I've heard in a humbucker. All the controls, the electronic controls, make a difference to the sound when you make movements in the knobs, Not like some guitars I have played where there is no change in the sound when you make adjustments on the knobs. These electronics are set up really nice. You can get a lot of different variations of tones. The finish on this guitar, which is the cats eye red is absolutely gorgeous. Cons: the guitar is heavy, compared to a semi hollow body. But it's no heavier than my fender Stratocaster. And it's no heavier than my Ibanez Strat. The locking tuners are weird to me. But they were great for functionality because they Hold the tune very well once you have them locked down. Only thing I don't like about the tuners is you have to unlock them before you can adjust tuning. Or at least that's what I see so far. Personally, I like my original tuners on my fender Stratocaster, which hold tune very well to and all I have to do is reach up and turn the side nob to make adjustments. That's the only thing I think is weird on the guitar is the locking tuners. But like I said, they work great it's just you have to reach in the back of the neck, unlock them and then reach around to the side and make the adjustment on the tuner then reach in the back and lock it back. I am new to this type of tuner. Maybe I'm not working them correctly. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong and you don't have to unlock them before you would make an adjustment. Hopefully, I'll learn something that makes us a lot easier Overall, this is one of the best guitars of ever played of this style of guitar. If anybody understands the locking tuners on this guitar better than I do, please add a comment on your review about them. Peace God bless you all
