Schecter is breaking new musical ground with their Slim Line Series of electric guitars. Designed with an ultra-thin, lighting fast neck and a sleek contoured body, the Blackjack SLS C-1 is armed with Seymour Duncan Full Shred and Jazz humbucking pickups, a TonePros w/ string-thru body bridge, and Schecter locking tuners. Elegant design appointments include a "Hell's Gate Skull" inlay on its ebony fretboard, and the entire guitar is adorned with black chrome hardware.

3-Piece maple neck
Made with 3 pieces of maple for extra stability. 3-Piece necks can withstand the test of time. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the 3-piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.

Satin finish and Ultra-Thin profile
The SLS collection features a satin finish neck for lightning fast playing above and below the 12th fret, an Ultra Thin neck profile (19mm at 1st fret/ 20mm at 12th fret), and new Ultra Access neck joint shape for easier access to the last frets.

Ebony fretboard
Ebony has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long sustain.

Seymour Duncan Full Shred and Jazz passive pickups
The Full Shred contains double rows of Allen screw pole pieces help fine tune the high end, leaving a tone that's fat and chunky, yet perfectly defined for speed riffs. Seymour Duncan's Jazz is a classic moderate output humbucker. Don't let the name fool you; it's not only great for jazz, but also country, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock.

Schecter locking tuning machines
These tuners feature a locking screw pin to lock the string into place for greater tuning stability. Details include a 19:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing, and a 10mm diameter peg hole.

Hell's Gate Skull inlay
The Mother of Pearl 'Hell's Gate Skull' inlay compliments the beautiful ebony fretboard. The thin white binding strip adds a nice highlight.

This is THE guitar. Look no further!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS C-1 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is absolutely perfect. It feels wonderful, it looks wonderful, it sounds wonderful. It has possibly one of the smoothest necks I have ever played. I can reach the 24th fret with no problem whatsoever. I love the coil-tapping option, it makes for a very versatile instrument. The full shred bridge is great for hard rock in metal (crunchy yet defined) and for singing leads. Don't let the jazz pickup make you shy away, its amazing for blues and rock and is just tasty. The locking tuners let you abuse your bending abilities and still stay in tune. So much sustain. A great shred guitar. I've had this guitar for about a month and a half and I haven't had any problems with it. Worth every penny. I would be totally willing to pay more for it. I originally wanted to get the see-thru blue finish, but could only get the available black. I was not at all disappointed with it though. It's a beauty. My new go-to brand is Schecter. I'd definitely recommend it. Fo sho. My favorite guitar of all time now. BUY IT.

Really fun guitar!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS C-1 Electric Guitar:

This guitar has exceeded my expectations. I wanted a guitar that was versatile, something that could handle anything from blues to metal, and this guitar delivers not only in sound, but looks and playability as well. I instantly found myself being able to easily play songs I could barely keep up before with on my other guitars. This guitar has a crazy tonal palette as mentioned before. I didn't know pickups affected the sound so massively before playing this guitar. These pickups respond so well to picking dynamics, and palm mutes are a dream with that Full Shred in the bridge. The Full Shred has beefy bass, while still articulating all the notes in chords. The '59(I'll get to this difference from the description later) is great for producing beautiful, smooth, "bluesy" leads. With the coil-tap feature, you have yourself a guitar that can fit in with pretty much any sound. On the hardware side of things, I'll admit I was a little worried about having a TOM as the bridge, I wanted something low profile like the Hipshots they put on the Banshees. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that this TOM actually can be set quite low with no buzz(which it was, right out of the box) in comparison to a more traditional guitar like a Les Paul. The main reason I ended up going with this guitar over a 2014 Banshee is because of the "Ultra Access" neck joint, and boy am I glad I did; the neck is fantastic for soloing and the joint does exactly as promised, give you great access to the higher frets. The tuners were also surprisingly nice, even though they're Schecter's proprietary tuners, they work great; they tune up fast, and keep tune pretty well. As for the the finish on this guitar, it's immaculate, which is surprising to me considering it was an overseas guitar. I have a Chinese made Epiphone Les Paul and I found plenty of shoddy workmanship in the finish. However, this guitar was a completely different story, I was really hard pressed to find any defects in the finish(I still haven't). I got the See-Thru Blue Burst, which is really easy on the eyes if I do say so myself(it's already garnered compliments from my guitar teacher). I wasn't aware that this was a real flamed maple top(albeit a rather "tame" flame) until a day before it arrived; I was so used to only seeing veneers at this price point so finding that out was really the icing on the cake. Unfortunately there are a few things that bug me about this guitar, but they are relatively small complaints: 1. The "Hell's Gate" inlay is no longer standard on this guitar, which is disappointing because I really dug the look from the stock images(although some may think it's corny). 2. If you have the dot inlay version, you also have a '59 SH-1N in the neck instead of a Jazz SH-2. The difference is the '59 has a little more bass than the Jazz, which also makes it a little muddier. While the '59 is still a great sounding pickup, I'd prefer to have the more articulate cleans of the Jazz(why Schecter decided it was a good idea to change this is beyond me). You can compare them for yourself on Seymour Duncan's website. All that being said, I would definitely buy this guitar again, and I'd be really sad if it got damaged or stolen. On a side note, the SGR-1C case is really nice as well, it fits the guitar perfectly(provided you're using the right handed model), and it's blue inside which is a great match if you got the See-Thru Blue Burst like I did(black does go with everything though so you can't really go wrong).

The best guitar I have ever played

By Andrew Klemm

from Hicksville, New York

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS C-1 Electric Guitar:

I was recently trying to find a new guitar because I wanted to have nice passive pickups that can play great on distortion and have great cleans, my Gibson wasn't doing it for me so I returned it for this beauty, not only does the see-thru blue finish catch your eyes but its also a joy to play, the satin finish neck isn't sticky and you can play lightning fast, its very slim too, its honestly perfect in size, looks and feel, The cutaway makes it so you can go down to the 24th fret on this with ease, Ebony compliments this guitar very well, Very smooth and sustain that goes on for days, and don't be fooled by the Seymour Duncans that are equipped on this monster, the jazz isn't necessarily just for jazz, its great for clean tones, distorted tones and blues tones, I play heavy fast music and I have to say that the jazz is very versatile, the full shred in the bridge is one of the best pickups i have ever heard, it is a moderate output pickup so its not hot and not bassy, it is very articulate and great for any style of music, Ive only had this guitar for 3 months now and I'm loving every minute of playing this beauty, Schecter has outdone themselves with this model, it feels like a 2,000$ guitar for more than half of the cost, if you're thinking about buying this model, i assure you that you will not be disappointed
