Comments about Rotosound RS77S Short Scale Jazz Bass Monel Flat Wound Strings:

I just got an Epiphone EB-O because it has a short (30.5") scale. I wanted to get that old vintage sound so prevalent back in the 60s. A better bridge and these flat-wounds more than did the trick. They went right on, and, for what it's worth, I had no problems with the silk getting in the way on either end. Now I have that vintage thump sound from the days of old. In fact, my EB-O now sounds EXACTLY like the Gibson bass the Animals bass player used. Yeah, that tone. I now have 14 basses, and they're all very different. This one is my only 4-string, and will always be the closest to my heart. my darling wife told me to go ahead and get it then passed away just before it came in. It's a beautiful bass, and these strings only made it more perfect. Can't ask for more.

Comments about Rotosound RS77S Short Scale Jazz Bass Monel Flat Wound Strings:

Bought these for my Ibanez short scale bass. They sound good and don't have the buzz you get from round wound strings when you are sliding up and down the neck. The round wound strings that came with the bass were way to bright for my taste. These strings are nice and mellow.

Comments about Rotosound RS77S Short Scale Jazz Bass Monel Flat Wound Strings:

I had trouble finding short scale bass stings. Didn't want to wait for a mail delivery, but ended up having to anyways. Thing was, GC shipped to there store for free and they came when they said it would. Liked having an excuse to walk the store again and try the product.

Comments about Rotosound RS77S Short Scale Jazz Bass Monel Flat Wound Strings:

These strings have that great flat wound sound that really brought my Rogue violin bass to life. I have no issues with these strings, as they do play very smoothly & have a good feel. My only "complaint", which really has nothing to do with string quality is that the felt end on a few of the strings extends below the nut into the first fret playing area on the Rogue violin bass. It doesn't however make a difference in the playing or sound of the bass in any way. The only thing I would recommend that you do before buying these strings is to remember whether you are buying for short scale or long scale bass, as these will only work properly on the instrument they were made for.

Comments about Rotosound RS77S Short Scale Jazz Bass Monel Flat Wound Strings:

I set up one of those newer MIM, Mustang, PJ basses for a friend and put these on there. Great, cost effective flat for that bass. My favorite flats are Thomastik-Infeld, but these sounded wonderful and cost 2-3x less than the TI's.

I Got these for my short scale Hofner (Asian) club bass which I always thought sounded a little cheesey. 1000% improvement. Quality flats is the secret to a great sounding bass. No hype. They WILL make your bass sound better.

Comments about Rotosound RS77S Short Scale Jazz Bass Monel Flat Wound Strings:

I chose these strings for their lighter gauge for a short scale bass guitar and because they were flatwound. Once on the bass and I played the instrument through a variety of amplifiers I was extremely impressed. Tone, resonance, clarity and ease of playing were evident from the beginning. I am looking forward to playing this instrument in a variety of settings including in the pit for a show and in concert.
