Introduced in 1975, the Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus amp has been the choice of professional guitarists for over 40 years. This legendary amp is renowned for its pristine clean tone and built-in stereo chorus effect featured on countless hit recordings. Powered by dual 60W amps driving a pair of 12" speakers, the JC-120 delivers a wide and articulate sound perfect for any style.

Pristine Clean Tone That Defined a Generation

The JC-120's crystal-clear sound has been the hallmark of its long legacy. Its simple yet high-quality circuitry produces a lush, shimmering clean tone guitarists have relied on for decades. The amp's Normal and Effects channels each provide 3-band EQ for crafting your perfect sound.

Iconic Stereo Chorus and Vibrato Effects

No other amp is as synonymous with chorus as the JC-120. Its lush, dimensional stereo chorus has been used by guitarists to create iconic tones since the '70s. An adjustable vibrato offers a range of modulation, from a subtle quiver to a deep throb. Reverb adds a splash of ambience to round out your effects. The JC-120's chorus, vibrato and reverb are all footswitchable for on-the-fly control.

Road-Ready Durability and Versatility

Despite its vintage, the JC-120 remains a thoroughly modern amp. It features an effects loop, line out and footswitch control for distortion in addition to the onboard effects. The amp's rugged construction and included casters make it ideal for gigging and studio use. With timeless tone and functionality, the Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus amp continues to define the sound of a generation.

    Superb Performance

I have had my new Roland JC-120 just over 2 weeks now. I bought it specifically for use with a new Rickenbacker 360-12 that I had bought a month earlier. The Ric has a stereo output splitting the two pick ups and the JC-120 seemed like the perfect 2 channel stereo chorus amp for this feature. (Recommended by Roger McGuinn as the best amp made for a Rickenbacker 12 string on his Byrds site.) I also have a strat, a tele, a les paul studio and a danelctro that all sound amazing through this amp. It has super clean volume, beautifully chiming reverb and chorus, hauntingly beautiful tremelo and a punchy fat distortion. This amp will fill a large hall or rock your living room just as well. I'm told the Roland JC-120 is a studio standard in the recording industry. I've also been running a Boss (Roland) ME-50 effects rig through this amp. On the back there are jacks for effects loop send and return, serial and parallel connections so that you can mix or separate processed and unprocessed sounds. You name it and the JC-120 performs for you. The local Guitar Center where I bought this didn't stock it and had to order it in for me. They had it in 2 days from request. Most of the guys at the shop had never seen the JC-120 before and they all had to try it out the night before I picked it up. Everyone of them expressed their envy and look at all the other in store options they have to play with. It's also just a really good looking amp as well.

Just don't make em like they used to.

Dad had a JC-120 early 80s back in the day that sounded unbelievable. He got rid of it and I wanted one ever since. Finally laid down the scratch for a new one, and had to take it back. The amp was just too noisy, especially with using the FX Loop. And the FX loop in Parallel did not work at all with stomp boxes. Maybe only good with Rack effects, I don't know. I called Roland Corporate to get their take on it, and they said that the stomp boxes should be run in Series on the -20 db setting. This did work, and the guitar tone sounded great, but the Hiss/hum was still there. Single Coil, Humbuckers, Noiseless, even just guitar into amp with no FX had a slight hiss. I was quite disappointed and took it finally just had to take it back. With that said, if you are just running straight into the guitar and use the on board Chorus, and Reverb with a clean tone. This Amp is where it's at!! I kind of like the distortion too because it's subtle and old school. Good for a studio that just needs a good clean amp, but in my opinion, not very versatile, and noisy. Especially for the $$$ . I got an old school Roland Spirit 50 that still rocks hard.

If you're buying this amp for the clean tones and built in chorus, you will not be disappointed. The reverb is meh, the distortion is bad. Easily fixed with pedals though. Again, beatiful cleans and exquisite chorus.

    • I would definitely buy Roland/Boss products again and again!

I have been playing for about 15 years and owned everything from fender to gibson. I've had several tube amps and currently have a marshall dsl40c.(which I love!) but if you're a serious player and need to jam or play some gigs then you need this in your arsenal. I play a Gibson SG standard into a Boss ME 70 and then into the front of this. You can get to any sound imaginable with this amp and that multi effect unit. IT DELIVERS!!!! the chorus is multi orgasmic, the reverb is awesome for your living room to give it that BIG deep tone and the vibrato is great!! You may experience some noise and feedback but just stick a quality noise gate in there and good to go for the bedroom, studio or stage. have fun and play like you mean it boys and girls.

    • Just don't make em like they used to.

Is there any way to use an attenuator with this amp? I don't see any cabinet outputs.

Unfortunately, no. It's 'possible' but it is in no way remotely designed for it.
