The bass is lightweight and has a decent sound to it. It has a reasonable tone, especially for a bass in this price range. Expect that you may have to turn up your amp, as the signal out is a little low. I usually play a five string jazz electric bass, and this one is for my eight-year-old son. He's super excited, and this is an instrument I could play at church and certain other places.

However, be aware that my bass arrived completely unplayable. Long story short -- the action (the distance between the strings and the fret board) was so low that the strings were laying on the fretboard up and down the neck. I had to adjust the truss rod several turns in order to make the bass even playable. The average buyer purchasing one for a child or beginning player might think they had purchased a lemon. I was worried at first myself. Thankfully, adjusting the truss rod is easy enough, especially because they do include most of the tools you need (you'll still need a Philips screwdriver to do the job). If you are uncertain how to do it or nervous you'll hurt your guitar, you'll want to add a professional setup at a local music store to the cost. I've never received an instrument like this, which is unnacceptable to me. But the bass itself is just fine once you've made the proper adjustments.

Comments about Rogue SX100B Series II Electric Bass Guitar:

This is a great bass, especially for the price. The only problem is that the tuning heads for the E and A string rattles, but it doesnt show up when I am plugged into my amp. overall, for my first bass and for this price, I would really recomend this bass

I bought this for my husband, who plays guitar, but wanted a bass for recording. Although it's not one of the top brands (Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, etc), he's satisfied with it. If you just want an inexpensive bass for practice or recording, I recommend this one. Can't beat that sale price!!

Comments about Rogue SX100B Series II Electric Bass Guitar:

Some years back I foolishly got rid of my bass guitar because I moved to another state, plus, I never learned to play it. I always regretted giving it away. When I saw this bass and all the good reviews and the great price on it, I decided to purchase it and am very happy that I did. I got the black one which looks like the bass that I originally owned. This is a perfect bass for someone who is starting to learn the instrument without breaking the bank. It has a nice sound and it fits me perfectly in that it's not too large. I had it shipped to the Guitar Center and they have been super nice to deal with.

Comments about Rogue SX100B Series II Electric Bass Guitar:

Good starter bass. Inexpensive, which is a plus. No buzz on any string which is good. Just make sure you play close to the fret lines which are marked with tiny white dots which helps with finger placement. Playable from the box but with a weak E string. I may have to change the strings to better ones, maybe D'Addario or Ernie Ball. BTW, I am reviewing this as a guitar player but a beginner bass player who have no experience with other electric bass guitars. But for my purpose of backing up my uke group, it is more than adequate. I paired it with the Fender 15W Rumble. I love playing it.

I had a bass similar to this, never played it and when I moved to another state I gave it away and regretted that later. I have always wanted to learn bass and bought this guitar because it was inexpensive and the reviews were good. I didn't want to spend a ton of money if I decided later on that I didn't want to continue with learning this instrument. Although I am just starting to learn the bass, this guitar is going to work out perfectly for my needs. It's a smaller sized bass but not too small. It is really nice, light in weight and it looks well constructed. I got the black one and it looks really cool. If you're considering a bass you've got nothing to lose with this.

This is a great bass for the price. I had to adjust it a little bit for my preferences but it was good straight out of the box. I normally play guitar and this is my first bass and its a great one. Ive played expensive basses and this one is comparable to something at least 500 bucks. I havent found anything wrong with it and its great value for the buck. The only thing is the pickup isnt very loud. Its low output. I wouldnt use this for say a stadium gig but for small venues its fine. Great for practice and jamming. Definitely recommend it.
