This is a cheap fretless bass; therefore, I won't hold it to golden standards. When I first got it, I had to do a bridge adjustment for the E string. This took 15 seconds and the tool you need to do this is included with the bass so it's not a huge problem. Apart from that, it isn't all that bad. The neck is very comfortable and it sounds good with or without distortion. My only complaint is that there is hardly any sustain, but for this price you won't win them all. This is a good fretless bass for a beginner.

The craftsmanship from Rogue is terrible. It's like no one checked the quality before shipping out. First (and last) fretless from Rogue and it was absolute trash, how could a company let such a horribly built guitar leave the shop? The fretboard looked as if someone tried to separate it from the neck wood with a screw driver , the buzzing was terrible, and flat sounding pickups. The only thing good on this bass were the strings. Save your money for a better made bass. Luckily Guitar Center let me return it and with that being said, GC shouldn't have sold it in the condition it was in.

A good bass for the beginner on fretless. The stock strings had almost no sustain so I would recommend getting nylon wound strings along with it. Pickups sound fair, but awesome with a preamp.

First off, no body should expect Any guitar to play great out of the box! There will aways be some adjustments needed no mater what it cost. Now, remember, this is a fretless! There are two major things to keep in mind when changing from a fretted to a fretless. It is a whole different beast! First remember your FINGER is now taking the place of a fret so positioning is NATURALLY going to be slightly different. Secondly, because this is the case there WILL be a certain amount of string muting taking place (by your finger) so the amount of sustain will be affected.
I bought this bass over ten years ago, loved it then and love it now! Setup is more important then price! Set this up correctly and you will love the way it plays. This one is truly value for the money, so don't let these people on here that are speaking out of their ignorance steer you differently. Also I paid more back then for it then what it is selling for now!
My only suggestion is go with tape wounds. They will sound much better on a fretless and be friendlier to the finger board.

I played bass in high school and college in the 70's and hadn't played much until about 5 years ago when I reconnected with my musical side. My other basses are all fretted instruments. I wanted to try a fretless instrument and didn't want to spend a lot. I am impressed with how good this bass is for the money.
Based on what I had read,I ordered a nice set of tape-wounds to put on it. The pickups seem weak as I have to crank the volume up on the amp to get the same level as my other basses but it has a really nice sound. Playing it through a Fender Bronco 40w.

I bought this guitar because my brother bought me a 5 string just like it. The bass is good for the money! This is my first fretless and it's fun to play. the only complaint i have is that the e string is flat right out of the box.. Bad strings do happen every now and then.....

This is my first fretless bass. I've been playing for...well, a long time. I bought an inexpensive one because I know I won't use it much but wanted one for recording. I like the feel and the sound, but the action was too high and I had to re-set the bridge. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

When i first bought this bass i was exited that a finally had a frettless. But after playing it for a good hour and a half i was unsatisfied each frettboard note has to be played a frett lower for some reason and you can strangely push the p pickups into the body.

Such a nice little bass for under a bill. The electronics are mediocre but seemed to get better as i got used to their "cheapness" (thanks frank z.) switched out to flatwounds, wow!. great sound for little cash!

Comments about Rogue LX200BF Fretless Series III Electric Bass Guitar:
I had to order this 3 times before I got one that worked right. The first one was the wrong model. The 2nd one buzzed a lot - I would have had to bring it to a luthier which would have upped the cost. The final one was good and plays very well. It's a low end fretless but a good starter - just be patient in the ordering.
