The Capsule
The HF6 is the perfect example of R˜DE's state-of-the-art fusion of artistic design approaches and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, with a sound signature reminiscent of the famous microphones of old, while at the same time exhibiting extremely low noise.
Dual Lyre system
The unique dual-Lyre suspension system of the SMR was developed by R˜DE's engineers to improve the overall effectiveness of the shock mount. The smaller inner Lyre acts as a tension element, to maintain each Lyre in its neutral position where it is most efficient at cancelling vibration.

Comments about Rode Microphones NT1 Condenser Microphone Package:
I like this mic a lot! I have an akg c214 and an avantone cv12, and it handles sibilants better than both of them as far as vocals go. I am just not a fan of the bulky shock mount. It works great but, I just feel as though it is a bit of overkill.would definitely recommend it to others! Some ppl compare it to the Neumann's u47/u87 but I can clearly hear the differences. It is thinner than both in the bottom and top. Can't beat it for the price!

Comments about Rode Microphones NT1 Condenser Microphone Package:
This mic has a ton of high end that can be cut to suit just about anything. When it comes to EQ I would rather cut than add. I can't see myself ever having to add high end to this mic.

Amazing Microphone
Comments about Rode Microphones NT1 Condenser Microphone Package:
This is my first ever xlr mic, before I used a blue yeti and this microphone really blew my mind. I decided to buy this one after reading many positive reviews and I am very happy. It captures my true voice and gives it a very clean crisp sound. Not to mention it's a very attractive mic. It is also a very quiet microphone, but if your in a noisy environment it will definitely pick up noise. You also get a 10 year warranty so looks like this will be with me for a long time. Some people say the pop filter isn't any good, but I have no problems with it and it works great for me, I prefer it over my other pop filters to be honest. I would recommend this microphone to anyone, if you are debating on purchasing this please give it a try! I was in your position and would have regretted getting a different mic!

Comments about Rode Microphones NT1 Condenser Microphone Package:
I'm kinda blown away by this mic package. Shock mount and pop screen are top notch and integrate nicely for great look and easy setup. The mic sound is exceptional, with a smooth frequency response. Vocals and acoustic sources wonderful, have yet to mic cabinets. Plugged into a standard mic pre it sounds like a more expensive mic...through a high-end mic pre (like my Demeter) it's brilliant! Bottom line a great go-to mic with no fuss getting a great sound. Price makes it an exceptional value as well.

Be wary of Self-Noise

Comments about Rode Microphones NT1 Condenser Microphone Package:
After using a Rode NT1-A for the last 9 months, I began looking at mics with a flatter frequency response that would be truer to my voice without requiring much EQ. I record mostly dry voice overs, and had my eyes open for a mic that would give me a nice clean and clear recording. I stopped by my local Guitar Center as I sometimes do and saw a Sterling Audio ST55 on sale. The frequency response chart looked extremely flat and it also came with a switchable HPF @ 75Hz. Based on the numerous 5 star reviews and the price, it looked like a no brainer as far as a somewhat lateral move from my Rode NT1-A. So, I brought it home and tested it out as soon as I could. The tonal quality was exactly what I was hoping for! However... I found that there was an unusual amount of noise in the background, a hissing of some sort. Dealing with primarily dry voice recordings, it was really apparent. I checked my cables and reseated all of my connections, and the noise persisted. I hooked my Rode NT1-A back up and my recordings came out super clean again without any of that hiss. Back to the ST55 I went, and back came the noise even with the HPF enabled. I was able to remove the noise with the help of some plugins, but I prefer to do little to no noise reduction with my recordings. After researching the issue further, I found that I had overlooked a very important specification with this mic - Self Noise. Without realizing it, I had been spoiled by how quiet my Rode was. The ST55 produces over 4x as much noise as my NT1-A does - ~22dB compared to ~5dB. This might be fine when recording vocals and instruments in a musical track, but for dry voice overs, I consider that amount of noise to be WAY too much. I was still pretty impressed with the tonal quality though, but I simply couldn't ignore its self noise. I ended up returning the ST55 and went with a Rode NT1, which I am extremely pleased with!

I record mostly dry voice overs, and had my eyes open for a mic that would give me a nice clean and clear recording. I checked into the specifications of a few mics that my local GC had, looking for one with both a flat frequency response and low self noise. The Rode NT1 stood out to me in both respects. I have now been using the Rode NT1 for the last few weeks, and can't see myself upgrading any time soon. It is exactly what I was looking for, and does exactly what I need - Extremely clean recordings that require little to no EQ. Thank you very much!

Comments about Rode Microphones NT1 Condenser Microphone Package:
My wife has been a professional voice-over talent for about 35 years. My daughter (now 25) has been doing voice-over work since she was 12. With so many auditions coming in per week, the drive to their agent's Hollywood office just became too stressful and time-consuming. The Rode NT-1, plus a good pre-amp has solved all that. Now they're able to produce a warm, professional sound, here in our home studio.

Comments about Rode Microphones NT1 Condenser Microphone Package:
This was the first ever recording mic I purchased, and I purchased it based solely on price and the positive reviews it got. I knew very little about recording vocals, but this mic made it easy. The sound quality is phenomenal, and needs very little EQing. I used to spend a ton of money recording vocals in a recording studio, and now I can do everything at home, and get the same quality.
