Overview

This is the walnut series version of the 4003S. The solid and natural look of a walnut body with a maple fingerboard. This version puts out even warmer bass tones than the maple version.
This traditional Rickenbacker bass style with dot inlays and no binding was prized by Paul McCartney and Chris Squire when they got their first 4001S models in 1964. Players cherish its traditional look and rounded edges that many claim make it more comfortable than the 4003.

The updated 4003SW version comes with the improved dual trussrod system. Of course, the famous solid bass tones, ringing sustain and treble punch were known for make it a dream. Its no wonder Rickenbacker received a steady demand of requests to bring this back.

This design was once exclusive to the British distributor Rose Morris in the '60s. Iconic curves of maple form the body with a traditional rosewood fingerboard. Dot inlays and no binding make this stand out from the standard 4003.

Includes hardshell case.

Comments about Rickenbacker 4003SW Walnut Electric Bass Guitar:

Absolutely gorgeous!.the tone is amazing. I saw some reviews telling it sounded "brighter" than the maple model, but I think that this SW sound warmer (Ric company also say this in their website). Perfect out of the box. I love the string action exactly as I have received them, easy to play. Ligh weight. I can't wait to play it in a live performance (next in a few weeks). I have a Fender Jazz and an Ibáñez fretless portamento, but this Ric has its own place among them. Maybe my new favorite (let me use it for a while). I'm in love with this bass. The case have a great quality (heavy for my taste).everything 5 stars (and much more than only five). I'm working to understand the tone controls. But let me say that the modern tone with both pickups is unic, perfect tone there. I want to play all day long.

Comments about Rickenbacker 4003SW Walnut Electric Bass Guitar:

as in the headline, i would like to be the only one in the world to own this incredible bass. iv'e been playing since the 60's and have played a lot of different bass' including a couple of 70's 4001 RIC's (still own one of those) and this one is my favorite. the sound, feel, and appearance, outstanding.

Comments about Rickenbacker 4003SW Walnut Electric Bass Guitar:

i've been playing for 52 years and am mostly retired from playing pro, (still do an occasional gig). i own a lot of guitars and basses (Gibson, Fender, Carvin, Steinberger and others) and this is my third Rickenbacker, first two 4001's. Now i think my 4003SW is my favorite. it came perfect out of the box, just tuned it in and started playing. did not know i was going to get the classic tone pull knob and really like the option of another tone setting and ease of engaging. i am also a fan of natural wood finishes, the walnut finish on mine is figured very nicely and looks great with the maple neck and fretboard.

Comments about Rickenbacker 4003SW Walnut Electric Bass Guitar:

It's a Rickenbacker; it's self explanatory when it comes to sound and workmanship. To me, the sound that comes from this bass is like no other I've ever got my hands on or heard. I bought the 4003SW so the wood grain throughout neck and body is absolutely beautiful. This by far was the best investment in a Bass Guitar I ever made. I waited a while for the right price to come along and GC delivered.

Comments about Rickenbacker 4003SW Walnut Electric Bass Guitar:

Bass is absolutely a joy to play as any Ric is. Setup was good out of the box. Just lowered the bridge to my liking and raised the poles for the E a bit. Finish is beautiful. My first bass was a 4001 and this lives up to my memory's and exceeds them.

Great guitar! Set-up sucks and GC packing was not great. Otherwise, for me this is the ONLY Rick to buy but to each his/her own. Great GC pricing!
