The Hat Trick G2 is a significant step ahead from Rhythm Tech's original, featuring a unique Quick Release Knob that makes it fast and easy to put it on and take off the hi-hat pull rod.

Additionally the G2 incorporates a stick friendly soft playing surface, so stick patterns can be used as well as the foot pedal. A super strong polymer frame keeps it light and responsive whil famous Rhythm Tech nickel jingles give it bright, projecting classic Rhythm Tech sound.

I needed a portable, tamborine - jingle effect to mount on my hi-hat for my cover band gigs. I saw it was in stock at my local Palmdale, CA Guitar Center store. The G2 Hat trick gives a medium loud jingle effect when closing the the hi hat chick sound and hitting the top edge with a drumstick. Some others complain of its durablity. I don't play overly hard and let the effect sound off naturally- it will not be any louder if you bash it. This is the second one ( i had my first one 6 years).I stack 2 of them together on my hihat to get a louder effect. It fits nicely in my cymbal bag accessory pocket.

This piece of garbage came UNGLUED in less than 5 minutes of play. Feeling pretty ripped off. Wouldn't buy it again if it was free.

Played this for a couple years actually and worked fine but recently when my drumming has became more advanced the individual brackets broke on all of them falling to the ground while playing just like the other reviews I gave this one a toss

I wasted my money on this G2 based on the advice of a Guitar Center drum tech who said he uses one and it was reliable. After 3 gigs it started to come apart. The individual jingles loosens by themselves. Imagine your surprise when you're drumming away and see it come apart. I found myself several times throughout a performance tightening each jingle post. I tried an adhesive to stop the problem, but to no avail. I finally gave up on it when 2 posts came out recently at a festival performance. I gave the what was left of it to a thrilled observer. At least the quick release knob worked. That's the only redeeming feature of the G2.
