Remo

Description

Renaissance Ambassador heads deliver a warmth, sensitivity, and articulation reminiscent of calfskin. This warm, tonal sound is great for melodic expression and affords a wider, more balanced sound spectrum for tympani, snares, toms, and bass drums in any drumming application.

These heads are made of 2 layers each 7mils thick. The Evans G14 is 1 ply of 14mils. I would have thought the 1 ply head would have more resonance or sustain than a 2 ply head of same thickness. I bought the Emperor Renaisance heads for the tops of toms and Evans G14 for the bottoms and suprisingly the 2 ply Emperor had much more sustain than the G14 1 ply head when tuned to same pitch on the same drum. These Renaisance Series heads have a very smooth well rounded full sound. When paired with Ambassador thickness heads for the bottom toms they would be HEAVENLY!

I have played these on concert tom's in my HS band and man do they take a beating and no dents on scarts.
