Remo

Description

The POWERSTROKE„¢ 3 head is a single-ply Ambassador„¢-weight head with an underlay ring at the outer edge of the head to subtly dampen unwanted over-ring. This design creates a near-perfect balance of response and tone control that has quickly made POWERSTROKE„¢ 3 one of Remo's most popular drumhead models.

I was dissatisfied with my current Remo drum head as it had poor response. I purchased this head and immediately loved the sound and the response

Sound great, like I knew they would. Good tom sounds. I use Evans for kick drums, and whatever snare head is muffled and not ringy

  • No SHTANG!, just enough GOINK!

Normally my snare preference is standard single ply coated, but those often result in a lot of sustain when hit near the rim (SHTANG!)which is undesirable for many rock and pop styles and often an annoyance to sound engineers. This head is dry but not "dead", with short sustain and just enough "GOINK" to retain the character of your snare. Dampeners or gels most likely won't be needed. The "dot" is clear and centered, about 6" in diameter and on the inside or bottom of the head which is why it's not visible in the photo. The head has different characteristics at different tunings: very versatile. Great for recording and live. Sounds good right out of the box.

I've been playing for 2 years now and have many drummer friends. All of them use Remo so I thought I would give it a try. I got this head with the Powerstroke 3 bass drum head and the Standard Remo Pinstripe Tom Pack. This combination by far is the greatest I have ever heard. I love the good crack you get out of this head with little but great overtone. If you tune it high you will be breathless when you hear it. Low tuned it is ok and medium tuned sounds great but I love it when its tuned high. I'm about to go get another one because I have had the same one for about a year now and it still sounds great. I play metal too so I hit pretty hard. Great head I recommend this to everyone.

well, i got this drum head and it doesnt seem to be great, it broke on me about a month after using it. i would recommend the coated sound controlled reverse dot snare head as a batterhead.
