Recording King

Description

Recording King's Dirty 30's Series 7 guitars just keep getting better, and the newest option is our 000 14th fret with gold foil soundhole pickup. Series 7 sound is unbeatable for the cost - chalk it up to our super-clean Cross Lap bracing and top-quality materials.

The spruce top is striking beneath the Tobacco Sunburst finish, framed by vintage-style checkerboard binding. The bound soundhole and parallelogram stencil fretboard markers are both functional and stylistic.

Now in the 000 body shape with an added gold foil soundhole pickup, the Series 7 is ready to get on the stage or the studio. The gold foil sound has been sought after since its introduction nearly 60 years ago. Now this passive pickup is ready to plug in and play with no fussy batteries or additional gear needed.

I use this open tuned E for slide and alternative sounds. I use GHS light white bronze, to make it even crisper and punchier. Happy with the pickup, it's nice not to have to use batteries. I love the sound. The fret edges will need filed, and I might get some grovers, since I'll keep it. Great for busking-lightweight and tough.

  • I might buy this again. I haven't decided yet.

Nice cheap guitar. Has a nice old school blues vibe.

Really fun old time blues and ragtime guitar. Got it with the gold foil pickup - wow! You cannot lose buying this one. When you do get one, plan on keeping it.

This guitar has a bad reputation. It sounds great and is easy to play. It is small with a large sound. A great choice for beginners

What is the recommended string thickness for this guitar? I replaced the originals with medium light strings.

They come with lights on them, typically 10's.
