Overview

The Concert Series Orchestra acoustic-electric guitar is all about warm tone. These are the lightest soundboards built by RainSong using unidirectional carbon. Unidirectional carbon mimics the tight grain of a fine spruce soundboard. Thus, it is not surprising that this line produces a warmer tone.

The RainSong Orchestra Model is the smallest and most refined of all RainSong shapes. It is their most comfortable and intimate guitar, with an immediacy of presence that makes it a favorite with the coffee house crowd. The treble, already a breathtaking attribute of RainSongs, and the carbon sound are simply sublime in this little guitar. A crystal bell clarity, balance, superb separation of individual notes, and an expansive dynamic range make the OM one of RainSong's most individually expressive guitars. Because of Projection Tuned Layering, the OM is capable of strong projection. It won't rattle windows like the Jumbo or the Dreadnought, but the OM, when driven, packs a lot of power and punch for a small-bodied guitar.

The N1 is the original RainSong 6-string low-profile neck. It is unique in design, with a feel that is at once comfortable and different, this neck is easy to play. Pre-engineered for optimal relief, the N1 does not include a truss rod.

The N2 neck is a result of an extensive, long-term collaboration with the renowned artist Steve Miller (www.stevemillerband.com) and Master Luthier John Bolin (www.bolinguitars.com). The neck design is based on a modified "U" profile that has been popular in guitars since the 1950s. While the N2 has a more substantial feel than the N1 neck, it is ergonomically sound and actually results in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard. The N2 features a truss rod that is accessible from the headstock. Graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature. The purpose of a truss rod in the N2 is to allow customization of the relief to suit individual preferences. Includes case.

Way better than I had hoped!

Comments about Rainsong Concert Series Orchestra Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I Have a higher end Taylor acoustic guitar that I love. I love it so much that I hate to take it anywhere. So I looked and looked for a travel guitar. Nothing really struck me. Then while at the store one day I picked up this odd looking Rainsong guitar. It looked a bit plastic so it certainly must sound goofy. I played it a few minutes and was struck that it sounded amazing for a non typical material. The guitar I tried was a bit bigger than the one I ultimately bought from Guitar Center online. I had debated getting a parlor size or the orchestra size. I had wanted it for travel after all. When it arrived (just a couple days after placing my order) it came perfect. After playing it exclusively for several weeks I absolutely love it. In Minnesota where I live the humidity and temperature fluctuate significantly. This guitar is unaffected by all of it. I watched for a used one a little while and there doesn't seem to be much out there. Just place your order for a new one at Guitar Center and you will be pleased. I have no affiliation with Guitar Center and have been pleased with several transactions with them. I also bought my Taylor there too.

Comments about Rainsong Concert Series Orchestra Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been playing a Taylor 410 for the last 10 years, the sound that this Rainsong produces is in the same category as Matin, Taylor, Breedlove ect. I wasn't sure if I wanted the OM due to a few reviews saying it wasn't as loud as the WS model, after receiving the guitar it was ever bit as loud as my Taylor 410. I am very impressed with the Rainsong concert OM.

    Why buy wood?

Comments about Rainsong Concert Series Orchestra Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've always been interested in the idea of an acoustic guitar that is impervious to temperature and humidity. I remember trying a Rainsong when they first came out and not liking the sound of it. I guess that left a bad taste in my mouth for years because I never even considered buying one after that. A friend of mine just got one and she loves it. Then I saw an article in Premier Guitar magazine that got me thinking about them again because having recently moved from Washington state back to California, my Martin and Epiphone acoustic guitars have not handled the climate changes well at all. I couldn't find a Rainsong in any store near me so I decided to just order one from Guitar Center so I could easily return it if I didn't like it. I love this guitar! It sounds amazing and feels so good! It sounds just as good or better than any acoustic I have ever played and I've been playing guitar for 55 years. I'm ready to sell my other acoustics and get another Rainsong model now. I can't imagine buying another guitar made from wood. Why wood I?
