I am used to playing a traditional grand, and my keyboard is just a fun toy. The ProLine Standard Metal Sustain Pedal has a different feel from the pedals on a Steinway or Yamaha, but it is easy to get used to, works as it should, and is a huge step up from the kit pedal that I bought with the keyboard. If you play conventional piano, consider the professional ProLine pedal that looks more like the pedal of an strung piano if you have space for it. The polarity switch works as it should, but once set need not be touched again for that instrument; it would be a mess if it got accidentally switched, so a recessed switch that needs a tool to change might be useful. The Standard Model works great for me, and I think most keyboard players would be very happy with it.

It's one of the cheapest pedals you can get that's metal and not plastic, and for a cheap sustain pedal it does the job pretty well.

It stopped working at one point so I had to open it up and fix the spring but after that it hasn't been an issue.

The biggest problem that I have is that almost every time I turn my keyboard on, it seems to default to "inverse" mode (the keyboard sustains when I don't press the pedal). This means I have to flip the switch pretty much every time. It's not prohibitive but it is annoying. It didn't start like this, it's only been doing it the past few days.

Comments about Proline Standard Metal Sustain Pedal:

This thing broke down in less than two weeks of normal home playing and one gig. It developed a short and works only intermittently, the facing peeled right off and it slides around even on a rug. A complete waste of money.

Comments about Proline Standard Metal Sustain Pedal:

I use 2 of these for my alesis sr-18 drum machine. I can't say how it functions for other things but for what I use it for it is perfect. It's heavier duty than a lot of what I've seen and they don't move around because they have rubber on both sides, top and bottom.

Comments about Proline Standard Metal Sustain Pedal:

After a few weeks of use, the pedal will sometimes get stuck on sustain and I have to stomp on it a couple times to free it. The bottom rubber is not glued on and will easily come off. This pedal is only good for practice at home.

Great working sustain pedal, metal and very rugged. I recommend this pedal to anyone needing a pedal. This is my 4th one because each keyboard I own should have one.
