Tremendous Tone

Comments about Peavey Classic 50 50W 4x10 Tube Combo Guitar Amp:
I love the Classic Series! This 4x10 produces some great sound clean or overdriven. The EL 84 tubes have great power too them although low wattage but the sound is incredible. At clean going through any Fender or Gibson LP, the clean is tuneful and articulate. Great for Jazz or fingerstyle or country. The overdriven through both of these guitars is rich and the overdrive breakup is smooth. Great sound that maintains its tone with a thick rich sound. The reverb is "juicy" and has a great "wet" sound. This 50 4x10 is loud enough for any mid size club for pretty much any style of music except metal. Great sound and still cheaper than its 4x10 counterparts.

Comments about Peavey Classic 50 50W 4x10 Tube Combo Guitar Amp:
I`ve been using the Classic series since they came out in 1991. I started with a 30w 1/12. In 2001 I got my 1st 50w 4/10. Just a few months ago I bought the 20w mini head, built a nice cab with tweed covering and a Vintage 30, wow what tone! I own many! I have played professionally since the early 80`s. I traveled wearing spandex and eye shadow with 2 100w Marshall Plexi`s cranking. I grew up as a kid playing country with a Fender twin and a Princeton blackface with a Tele, picking my fingers off. I say all this to let you know, that I know tone! These amps have all the tone you could ever want. Do they have the Fender sound, No, but I can get close enough that most could never tell a difference. Just recently a friend brought over his Silver Jubilee 50w and we compared. With the preamps cranked and the power sections at 3/4, even all the way up, oh and NO pedals, they are so close its scary... My friend could only shake his head for 5min straight! Needless to say, I love them! With this 50 I carry an attenuator for most small to medium size clubs. I run 2 of these full out at most the large events and outdoor shows. If your under 1500 people you only need 1 mic`ed... They are all that! Try one, but try it full out clean and full out dirty, you will be impressed! From old style country licks to Judist Priest. Blues to Metal. This amp wont let you down!! They take pedals really well, when you need them. For rock shows I use a chorus, phase, delay and crybaby. Sometimes I use a tube screamer but not often. I have many pedalboards that are full but really don't use them much anymore. The amps raw sound is plenty good enough. The cleans are crystal clean if you want that and the crunch is sweet as can be! Sometimes I love getting out the Gretsch and playing some swing or rockabilly. These amps can get so clean and when you want a little breakup, NP! They do it all... I seen where one guy wrote they sound great for everything BUT Metal, he is just flat out WRONG
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
