BINGO!

I've got the Trick PRO-V1 Bigfoot double pedal, along with the "carpet creep" issue as stated by another reviewer. Trick's solution is simply to apply some Velcro strips to the baseplate or underside of the free-standing pedal. That solution never really work for me and my slick pedal / carpeted surface combination. I was going to take the pedal to a fabricator and have modifications done but luckily I stumbled onto this simple solution from Pearl. Bingo!!! Problem solved and at a fraction of the cost to have some spikes machined into the pedal. Why Trick doesn't do that in the first place is another matter... but this solution is a no-brainer. I love Pearl hardware for many reasons and this certain fits right in line with all the great qualities of their other products.

I own the Trick ProV double pedal and anyone currently playing it knows what it's capable of. That said, even with industrial strength velcro underneath, it can creep on you, especially when playing on carpet surfaces of different thicknesses and debris built up in the tape. I wanted to permanantly circumvent the issue with this device from Pearl so I went ahead with the purchase. Glad I did because what I found was not only does it stop "creep" dead in it's tracks, but it also allows for a much closer feel to that of having a second kick drum in front of your slave foot. Does it exactly replicate the feel of two kicks? Of course not but the long spikes and angled degree curve of this contraption DIGS into the surface you are playing on, thus giving "push" back at your foot. Not rebound like on a kick drum but push none the less. If you are thinking these are similar to the spikes on your average slave side double pedal, think again. Far superior and quite frankly it makes the ProV even more of a pleasure and easier to play (if that is even possible). IMHO with these direct drive pedals, there needs to be more of a heel drop incorporated into the performance, even if you are a "heel up" player. Pedals COMPLETELY shadow your foot and energy is converted straight from your foot, right to the pedal and straight to the kick. This slight stomping motion can "rock" the pedal slightly and hence make your slave foot slightly have to accomodate for a little "play" in the movement. Issue now gone. I was blazing fast before on the Trick....now the left foot is even better. Not the biggest Pearl fan but they sure did right on this one. Cheap too. Highly recommend.

My pedal does not move at all anymore. Even when doing 32nd notes on the pedal, it stays put

This does what it says it does. My Pearl Powershifter pedals always had a problem with the slave pedal always creeping forward when playing heavy dbl bass parts "which is all the freakin time for me" and this thing cured it! I love how you can choose between the spikes or the rubber feet for different surfaces. This thing is solid and makes you dbl bass pedal even better!

How can a Pearl product not work on a Pearl pedal? I have the P122TW which doesn't come equipped with a clamp bolt or assembly on the the slave pedal. The statement "Fits most pedals" should automatically include all Pearl pedals, but it doesn't. Can the P122TW in any way be connected to the PX-85?
