OK Capo

By George Garcia

from Austin, Texas

Comments about Paige 12-String Guitar Capo:

Although this capo does performs well, it is a little difficult to put on and takes some adjusting, but I have less muting of strings than what I get with other capos, including Kyser, Shubb and G7. It could be built to be a little heavier. But it works the best of any capo I have tried on my 12 string.

Effective

By Chuck Barnett

from Arlington, WA

Comments about Paige 12-String Guitar Capo:

I've a 12 string that I use occasionally for one song in a set. Short of designing and building a cape myself, I have found nothing that works better. It isn't as quickly adjustable as Paige wants you to believe, and time will tell how well the vinyl tubes hold up. But once set, it does a good job for me.

Don't like this capo

By Dave

from Kihei, HI

Comments about Paige 12-String Guitar Capo:

This capo is not very practical. It's difficult to align the plastic rings with the high strings. It is also difficult to move the capo up and down the neck as you move from song to song.

Comments about Paige 12-String Guitar Capo:

Modify it and it will work great. See Pic. Pull off those little rings. Get 4 inches of clear fuel line tubing from auto store with about the same inner diameter as the little rings. Trim it to the proper length and push it on where the rings were. (My tube's inner diameter was a little small so I cut a lengthwise slit the whole length of the tube, slid it on, and faced the slit away from the fret board) Now it works like a charm. And it puts equal force on all 12 strings, unlike those hinged capos which have variable force from one end to the other.

      Garbage!!!

Comments about Paige 12-String Guitar Capo:

This capo does NOT fit my 12 String Guitar. I can probably use it on another guitar I own but for the 12 String it is 100% worthless.

Comments about Paige 12-String Guitar Capo:

After falling in love with my Paige 6 string capo, I purchased one for my 12 string. I found it t be of the same high quality as my 6 string capo. but it has some querks. First, the tube overlays for the E,B,G,D strings are a waste of time. locating them on the capo to cover those strings proved pointless. Maybe one long ring would work better. I don't use them. Second, it was too shallow to use on my older U.S. made Guild. It works fine on my Martin DM-12 that has a thin neck.(down to the 10th fret) but the Guild is much thicker.(kind of like a 2x4) Paige makes a couple models for 12 strings. If you have a thick neck 12 string order the widest one they make. Other than that I would still recommend Paige capos. They are a quality capo that will last. And they stay on your guitar. no more clip on dangling from your headstock.

Comments about Paige 12-String Guitar Capo:

It arrived without the little rings installed on the bar. They're virtually impossible to install. Once I finally got them on, it still gives more string buzz than any capo I've ever used. I bought it specifically for my 12-string, because that's how it's advertised. I went back to my old Kyser capo immediately.

Comments about Paige 12-String Guitar Capo:

It's not a practical capo for quick adjustments, or fast on-and-off. However, it's the only cheater I've used on a 12 string that doesn't produce string buzz, or overbending of the heavier gauge strings (making them sharp) that requires retuning the guitar every time you use it.

It become something of a necessary evil, the awkward process of putting it on, tightening it down, etc. to get a clean sound. I agree with those who say it could be more heavily built. The rubber tube on mine gave up the ghost after about 15 years, splitting in half. That's pretty good longevity. Otherwise (structurally), I've had no issues with it.
