Overview

The SE A30E expands PRS Guitars' SE acoustic offerings to include the classic combination of a solid spruce top with rosewood back and sides. Rosewood provides players with bell-like highs and full bass response for an overtone-rich sound.

The A30E also features the PRS 15.5" Angelus Cutaway body shape and the x-brace/classical hybrid top-bracing design found on PRS' acclaimed Maryland, USA-made acoustic line, as well as the company's trademark bird inlays and headstock design. The undersaddle electronics, which are accessible via the soundhole with both tone and volume controls, provide added flexibility and functionality for the gigging musician.

High-quality components include a solid spruce top with rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, bone nut and saddle, and PRS designed tuners. The Angelus Cutaway body shape is both aesthetically pleasing and provides easy access to the upper frets.

Comments about PRS SE Angelus A30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been playing for around 15 years now. This guitar is the best acoustic I've ever owned/played. I spent around four hours in my local store looking for a guitar with a return credit that i had. I played Martin and Taylor acoustics twice the price as this PRS and they did not compare. First off, this guitar stays in tune very well. I haven't had to tune it since a week ago. Unplugged, this guitar has a very bright sound with just enough low end. Plugged in, it sounds even better. Bar chords are easy to fret on it too. Almost reminds me of fretting an electric, but not quite as easy. the cutaway makes for easy access to the higher frets. Overall i am very happy with this instrument, and the quality is amazing. I also have a 900 dollar taylor and this guitar has taken its place as my main acoustic. This is also one of the only guitars around the thousand dollar mark that comes with a hard case.

Comments about PRS SE Angelus A30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I love the sound, and the playability of this guitar. It's on par with my Martins, and in some cases even better. Easy to play, and as was mentioned in a previous post, barre chords are a breeze. I never expected to love a Korean made guitar so much, but it's the best deal on an axe out there. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Comments about PRS SE Angelus A30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Over the years I've spent thousands on high end Martin, Taylor acoustic guitars. I've played everything but the PRS acoustic guitars. I never played the American made PRS acoustics. Too expensive for me. The other day I was in Cincinnati Guitar Center. Saw an A30e hanging there . Those beautiful bird inlays caught my eye.
I figured it would be an "ok" guitar. It blew me away. It played itself and sustained longer than my ltd ed. Martin Clapton 000s. I walked it to the counter ans said , " This is mine" Then they brought out the case and it's awseome. You could stand on it and would hurt the guitar.
If you play one you'll want it. I guarantee!

Comments about PRS SE Angelus A30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I use this for songwriting, playing in my band, recording and just messing around. I ended up buying this guitar over a Taylor Auditorium 918, its been a while. I just decided I didn't want to spend 6000.00 on another guitar. This PRS has a wonderful spruce top, split back binding of rosewood, the neck is beyond words. The different birds on the inlays are great craftsmanship. The bracing inside is comparable to higher priced guitars. This guitar is great for the money. Using it with a tube amp it sounds fabulous and even with solid state and effects processors, I could not have spent better money. I found it at a San Bernardino store. It took me a while to finally buy it, I just kept going back because I loved the way it played. "Amazing".

Great Sound and looks, Unethical Transaction

Comments about PRS SE Angelus A30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Paul Reed Smith Angelus SE A30E is awesome. Sound is great, looks spectacular. I really like the finger controls in the sound hole. You can actually adjust while playing. The included Case is easily an expensive case, thi sreally surprised me. Good balance and fits the SE like a glove. Unfortunately for 2018 PRS is no longer making it. They introduced the A50E, 40E and redid the A20E. DO not buy this thinking you are getting a new one, no matter how GS markets it. It is a bait and switch. I bought mine new, turns out it was a floor model. I was really really upset. But once cleaned up and set up this is one beautiful and great sounding guitar. Was offered nothing but excuses from GS. Oh, wait until you receive the guitar before you make the decision. SOld as new received it used. No major dings or dents, but had to set up, clean her up and have her restrung.

Great Guitar, Looks Awesome, sounds even better. I was skeptical of the control buttons in the sound hole but found I like it better than knobs on the top. Easier to adjust as you are playing. WHO EVEN KNEW PRS MADE ACOUSTICS. Awesome guitar Look for the A40 or A50. They no longer make the A30. You will be happy you did. Oh, great case comes with it. Case alone has to be a $200 case. It's awesome, hard shell black with SE on the side.

Comments about PRS SE Angelus A30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Have had it for a year or so and it's been phenomenal. I like to bounce between this and my Taylor. I compared it Martin's and Taylor's that were $400 more than this and it was the best.

Only downside real downside to it for me was its battery location. Having bigger hands it's hard to get to in through the sound hole and I'm scared I'm going to unplug wires.

Comments about PRS SE Angelus A30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am a returning intermediate player. I needed an acoustic for classes at our local community college. So I am not super experienced guitar buyer but I know decent sound, build quality, and playability when I see/hear it. I purchased a PRS SE Tremonti several years ago on the advice of a friend giving me a good introduction to the value and quality of the PRS SE guitars. So PRS SE was a natural choice looking for an acoustic. I initially ordered the Alex Lifeson thinline acoustic thinking it would be easier to hold and transport. It was a well made very playable guitar but even to my novice ear I was disappointed in the depth and richness of its sound. In contrast the sound from this guitar is very full and rich. Well worth the slightly higher price and I have not found the larger size to be difficult to manage and hold. Would definitely buy again and recommend to anyone looking for a moderately priced acoustic with good sound.

Comments about PRS SE Angelus A30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Exceeded my expectations, especially when considering value vs price. Mine had a great grain/looking top, rosewood back/sides were nicely done along with great neck/fret work. They might have went a bit heavy/thick on the clear coat finish, but that's pretty normal for imports and lower-mid level guitars. Case is a big bonus and nice quality. Action was nice and low (about 5.5-6/64 on low e) right out of the box, which is rare from the mfg to be that near perfect. These are inspected/final set up by a tech at PRS in Maryland and it shows. I am perfectionist on my action so I lowered the saddle just a smidge to get my 5/64 on the low e, but most would not even need to worry about that! Neck /truss rod relief adjustment was dead on also with no buzzing. I installed my favorite John Pearse PB strings and boy does this guitar sound good. Plenty of bass and trebles with a good growl to it accompanied by nice sustain. Pick up is okay, but that's a piezo for you, nothing to write home about compared to a Tak with a cool tube or higher end Fishman.

I have several other nice higher end Takamines, a Yamaha, and an older beautiful all solid body Taylor 214e (spruce top/solid sapele back & sides pretty much equal to a 314), and this PRS rivals them for a lot less money/investment. Plus I am sure it will open up a bit with age and get a little better. All in all, this guitar fights and plays above its weight class for sure!

Comments about PRS SE Angelus A30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I finally decided it was time to upgrade to a quality acoustic. And at this price point there was nothing that compared in my opinion. The quality and sound of the a30e are fantastic and stand up very well to my friends $1200-1500 Martin. It has a voice all its own, but it's a very pleasant voice. Would absolutely buy again. In the year I've had it all I've needed to do was change strings. The setup was great out of the case. Speaking of which, it comes with a very nice hard shell case, embroidered with PRS on it.
