Comments about PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin Electric Guitar:

Recently purchased this guitar at my local guitar center and was thoroughly frustrated by it's inability to stay in tune. Granted it looks and feels great but I don't want something to look at, I want something I can play without having to stop and tune it every few minutes. I viewed a PRS video on the locking tuners and followed their recommendation but it still would not stay in tune.

I'll be taking it back to guitar center and try other guitars in this price range but after reading reviews others have left on guitars from different manufacturers I'm not sure I'll find one that will stay in tune regardless of the manufacturer. Is this a common problem with these "cheaper" guitars?

Comments about PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin Electric Guitar:

This instrument reminds me of the vintage gibsons, where the wood was so very important, and the skills of the post war craftsmen made each guitar a special instrument with no compromises. Nothing screwed together here!

Comments about PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin Electric Guitar:

I bought this in store. It was up on the wall, and I asked to play it and next thing I know it's riding home with me. I haven't had issues with tuning like another reviewer had, and to my understanding everything on this guitar is American except for the pickups and guts. I'm thinking about putting Duncans in this thing when the stock pickups die (and they very well may). Otherwise the stock pups sound great, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it in store same day. Either way, it was the president's day sale, and I got 15% off so it was definitely a steal, and it's beautiful to boot.

If you want an american made paul reed smith...

      By Chris

      from Clinton Twp. MI

Comments about PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin Electric Guitar:

If you're looking for an American made true Paul Reed Smith (despite the imported guts which can ALWAYS be changed out for American parts) without all the fancy bells and whistles, this is the guitar you want. If you care more about playing and great tone rather than ascetics, even more of a reason to get this guitar. I've been playing mine for just over a year and while it doesn't have quite the same feel as a core custom 24, it definitely gets the job done. Has the feel of an SG to me personally with the thinner body and fatter neck. I swapped the pickups out since I wasn't a fan of the stock pups it came with. Overall I'd give this guitar a 7/10.

The most perfect guitar I have ever owned,

      By Filthy Frank

      from Chicago

Comments about PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin Electric Guitar:

I cannot imagine a guitar playing better. It performs exactly as an electric guitar should, without any of the annoyances that some of us have had to put up with with otherwise nice guitars. I've had mine for about 3 months and it just works perfectly in very area of performance.
