I find it appalling that as nice & EXPENSIVE as PRS guitars are, they are too cheap to include Hard Shell Cases w/their guitars but instead sell them w/the dreaded, not nearly protective enough 'padded gigbag'!! Now that's thinking of your customer base....its sad!!!!

Quality of craftsmanship and materials feels pretty premium. This isn't just an SE at double the price. Sounds somewhat warmer/smoother vs. standard Gibson double humbuckers to me. It has a fairly rich and sustaining unplugged tone. Setup was a little bit high out of the box (~2.25mm at the 12th fret). The quality of the tops seem roughly similar to Gibson standard LPs. Mine weighs about 7.75 lbs. This is very very similar to the regular S2 Mccarty 594. The main difference is USA instead of import pickups, though the price of the pickups alone is greater than the price difference between the Limited edition and regular Mccarty.

I consider myself an ambient guitarist who occasionally needs to rock out. The sound was great right out of the box. It took awhile to get here but it was definitely worth the wait. Previously played a Les Paul and a Strat. This is my favorite!

Just got my McCarty 594 10th anniversary in dark cherry sunburst and feel i should warn you it doesn't look the same in person. Check out the official PRS video on YouTube about this model to see what the dark cherry sunburst actually looks like. Ill try to upload photos that accurately display the color when i come back to share my experience after spending some time with the guitar.
