Good enough
By Marco
from New York
Comments about PDP by DW 800 Series Round Top Throne:
It's good enough, it's not extremely comfortable but it serves it's purpose, my only problem is that I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs and I have to constantly raise it because the seat won't stay in place, even when I tight the knob and lock as much as I can, I suddenly find myself hitting my thigh with my left hand and it's when I realize the seat went down again. Other than that, it's good enough, and if you're not tall or heavy or move too much while playing (cause I have all 3), it's perfect, also it's good if you're starting.

Comments about PDP by DW 800 Series Round Top Throne:
This and other less expensive PDP drum thrones CANNOT maintain the height you set it at. I'm 5'9" and weigh 160 pounds, which is not over weight, (which shouldn't matter anyway) and no matter how tight I make the friction adjustment knobs, even using wrenches to tighten it, it still slips. I'm so sick of being told "this is a good product", paying over $80.00 including taxes, and finding out it's junk. I don't have the time or the money for this. Guitar Center, you should be ashamed for selling this junk. I'm probably going to just drill a hole through the post and stick a bolt through it....which is how it should be made in the first place.

Comments about PDP by DW 800 Series Round Top Throne:
I weight about 190 lbs. and this thing can't stay at the height I want it to. I tighten the wing nuts by sandwiching them between two sticks to get better leverage and even after this minor engineering trick it refuses to stay where I want it. I'm not even bouncing around on it much at all. Sure, it's fine otherwise. But if it won't hold its height what's the point. You expect basic function out of something costs $50+. Really wish I hadn't bought this.

I was told in store that this was a nice throne. WRONG! No matter how tight i make the seat post, it will not hold its spot. It slides down while playing. JUNK JUNK JUNK!!!

Height Lock slips

Comments about PDP by DW 800 Series Round Top Throne:
I weigh 215 lbs and the height adjustment will not prevent slippage. It gradually slips during the course of playing a set. Why PDP expects a slick surface to not slip in a friction type lock is beyond me. Didn't realize this was the case when I bought it. Other than that, it is a stable throne. Would recommend only for light weight players.
