Black Magick Reverb Demo with Zach Comtois | Supro

Description
Much like the original Black Magick, the reverb version features two independent preamp channels that can be linked together using the 1&2 input jack to obtain the fattest possible tone. Additional gain has been added to both preamp channels in the Black Magick Reverb, while the dual-gang, single-knob tone control from the non-reverb model has been reconfigured with separate treble and bass knobs for a wider range of possible sounds. The Black Magick Reverb's 6-spring reverb pan is driven by both channels and then summed with the dry signal just before the master volume control.
An updated, tube-based LFO circuit provides bias-modulated output tube tremolo with double the speed range of the original Black Magick. The output stage of the Black Magick Reverb is based on the same Class-A power amp as the non-reverb model, utilizing a matched pair of 6973 tubes and a custom-made Supro output transformer with 16-ohm, 8-ohm and 4-ohm output options. The combo version of the Black Magick Reverb features the same, custom-designed 12" BD12 speaker found in the original Black Magick combo. Standalone 1x12 and 1x15 extension cabinets can be used with both the head and combo versions for a huge stage sound and the undeniable rock and roll flair of Supro’s Black Rhino Hide Tolex.

Vintage Tones with more fun!

Bought this used from GC (shipped from Indiana to Minnesota) but owned by a Deangelico (now owns Supro) employee in newish condition. Ive owned alot of amps and this is the prettiest little thing. Tolex is ARTWORK!. This all-tube amp WITH NO SEMICONDUCTORS will delight with old overdriven tones used by Jimmy Page in Zeps Ray days. Two preamp channels feed into one master that run off of unique 6973 power tubes that were/are used in hifi tube audio and old jukebox machines. Tremelo is BEAUTIFUL and reverb is good up to halfway but gets a bit grainy and spacey from there. Its a mid-sized mid-gain throwback recreation of days gone past with some great improvements. Just nudge the front end with a boost or mild OD and you're in higher gain classic rock terrain. No effects loop...can switch reverb or trem off-on with footswitch. Also an A-B-Y switch can offer some flexibility using both preamps. Lots of fun...portable I would say this competes with a Fender deluxe reverb reissue. The Fender is WAY LOUD and takes too long to break up and with ZNO master volume beco es unusable. Also the tone of the Fenders breakup is not very smooth or pleasant. Fenders reverb is better but thats about it. The natural distortion on the Supro is VERY usable especially with the addition of the Master volume.
