Description

Strymon's UltraViolet Vintage Vibe Chorus & Vibrato Effects Pedal has a dynamic response to your picking that's a hallmark of the true vibe experience. This effects pedal is thicker and chewier than a chorus, earthier than a phaser and unique when in front of a driven amp. Delivering nothing but vintage good vibes, this tone is second to none and features simple yet powerful controls for instantly obtaining a variety of captivating sounds.

Design and Settings

UltraViolet’s easy-to-use controls provide players with a wider range of sounds than a traditional vibe pedal. Not only are there familiar Chorus (50% wet) and Vibrato (100% wet) settings, there's also a new Blend setting (30% wet) when you need a more subtle effect. The Bias switch gives players three distinct flavors of sweep shape and tone emphasis, allowing for a wide sonic variation. Used at slower speeds, the intensity range is expanded to push even further into warmly undulating sonic territory.

Vibe Algorithm

UltraViolet’s updated algorithm features elements from a classic optical vibe circuit that have been recreated for a more dynamic playing response. From the effects of bias, speed and LFO waveshape on pulsing, to the response of the light-dependent resistors that set the center frequencies of the staggered phasing filters, it has been duplicated and carefully tuned to produce the very best sounds offered.

Stereo MIDI

Thanks to the TRS stereo input and output in a dual mono configuration, players can use this effects pedal at any point in your chain without impacting your stereo image. Full MIDI implementation with 300 available preset locations ensures that UltraViolet is ready for your MIDI rig. In addition to TRS MIDI, there is a USB-C jack for controlling the pedal via MIDI from a computer or for performing firmware updates.

For hands-free use, you can connect an expression pedal for control over any combination of knobs in any direction. You can also attach an optional external switch for tap tempo or favorite recall. A high-impedance, ultra-low noise discrete Class A JFET stereo input preamp provides an exceptional touch sensitivity, dynamics and feel—all in a rugged and elegantly compact form.

    I use this solely for Home use and some stage. It has that great Strymon sound quality. Works will with other pedals especially the Strymon flanger. It is limited in it's flexibility of choices for a multiple chorale options, however as noted added with the flanger makes this very sweet. It also a great fit for crowded pedal boards.

    I use this last in the chain and it gives an analog tape feel to the sound. It can be subtle, I leave it on all the time because of the warmth and vibe it imparts.
