The Seymour Duncan Woody HC Hum-Canceling Soundhole Pickup provides a full, rich tone for your acoustic guitar without unwanted noise or hum. Simply place the Woody HC into your soundhole—any soundhole between 3.85" to 4.1" in diameter—plug in the included 14' cable, and you'll be ready to amplify your acoustic with studio-quality sound. The Woody HC uses Seymour Duncan's Stack technology to deliver natural, articulate tone for fingerpicking or strumming.

Eliminates Hum and Provides Warm, Balanced Tone

The Woody HC's namesake hum-canceling capability ensures a noise-free performance regardless of lighting conditions or interference. Its balanced, full-range tone accentuates the natural qualities of your acoustic guitar without coloring the sound. The Woody HC provides articulation for complex fingerpicking passages as well as a rich bed of tone for rhythmic strumming.

Drop-in Installation and Intuitive Controls

Simply place the Woody HC into your soundhole, connect the included cable and you're ready to amplify. No modification to your guitar is required. The Woody HC has a single volume control to blend in your pickup's signal with your acoustic tone. Dial in as much or as little of the pickup as you want until you achieve your perfect balance of amplified and unplugged sound.

Premium Components for Superior Performance

The Woody HC utilizes a maple cover and housing for a natural appearance and resonant quality. Its studio-quality 14' cable ensures your signal remains pristine from pickup to amplifier or mixing board. Oxygen-free copper wiring and a gold-plated jack provide maximum conductivity and corrosion resistance for the best possible tone and longevity.

Road-Ready and Built to Last

The Woody HC's solid construction and durable components are built to withstand the rigors of travel and live performance. It attaches securely to your acoustic guitar's soundhole for a stable fit during any playing situation. The Woody HC is designed and assembled by Seymour Duncan in Santa Barbara, California using quality materials to provide years of great tone and service.

Very good sound hole pickup

I had been consdiring retiring my old Martin acoustic which plays well, but has no amplification. Instead I decided to try the SD Woody pickups for the sound hole of the acoustic. The result was fantastic. The sound is great. Very little buzz or feedback. And the tone is good. The fit into my standard size sound hole on the guitar is snug. The only draw backs are, there is not tone adjustment on the guitar as there is no pre-amp. Not a problem if you can adjust tone on your amp. The other draw back is the extra cord coming out of the sound hole from the pickup. It can get in your way when picking. It was a matter of finally feeding the cord back through the strap connection on the base of the guitar that worked for me.

You get what you pay for

Woody pickups are not good, they are a cheap way to plug in your acoustic and nothing more. They work in that they do amplify your guitar, but the sound is unacceptable for performance or recording. It amplifies loudly, but with no regard to tone or balance. The main problem with Woodies is the high end, it's shrill and it dominates the low. My band and I played an open mic at a bar with a great sound system. One of the other performers, who was good, had a Woody in his guitar and it ruined his set. It sounded awful, and being a Woody owner myself, I know for a fact that it was the pickup, I know that sound anywhere: it's the sound of an inferior pickup. If you want something to bang around on, go for it, but if you want something that sounds good, especially for performance or recording, don't bother, you WILL be disappointed.

I've been using the Woody HC Hum Cancelling Soundhole Pickup for three or so years now, in various venues of various sizes, and I have to say, I'm sold on this pickup. It has a really neutral color, which means that it will fit right in with whatever gig you are working. And, sound techs really seem to like them, as well. I 100 percent recommend this pickup to anyone who needs a good soundhole pickup in a giggable world.

  • How about some instructions on how it should be installed .

I love the feel and sound of my acoustic but it doesn't have a pick-up so I tried the Woody on a recommendation from a friend and couldn't be more surprised and impressed with how easy it is to use and the great and realistic sound it produces at such a low price. It is really a no brainer if you want to amplify one of your acoustics.

No. This is a magnetic pickup.

No. This is a magnetic pickup so it only works with steel strings. You would need an undersaddle style pickup.
