QSC

collapse expand iconDescription

The QSC GX5 Stereo Power Amplifier, a robust yet lightweight amp ideal for live sound reinforcement and fixed installations. This innovative amplifier packs a punch, delivering a combined 1,250 watts at 8 ohms across two channels, allowing you to drive multiple speakers with pristine audio. With its highly efficient Class-D technology, the GX5 runs cool while providing more than enough power for small- to mid-sized venues. Intuitive rear-panel controls make dialing in your perfect tone a breeze.

Class-D Amplification Means Powerful, Efficient Performance

The GX5 harnesses QSC's advanced Class-D amplifier technology to produce high power levels from an ultra-lightweight, fanless design. Each channel cranks out 625 watts at 8 ohms, for a total of 1,250 watts. This Class-D efficiency also results in an amplifier that stays cool during extended use, thanks to its built-in heat sinks. The GX5's lightweight, compact form factor makes transporting and mounting the amp for live shows or permanent installations simple.

Flexible Connectivity for Any Application

The GX5 offers versatile connectivity for driving a variety of speaker configurations in live or installed settings. Each channel provides an XLR, 1/4" and barrier strip input, as well as binding post outputs to connect multiple speakers. The rear panel also sports an RJ45 Ethernet port for remote monitoring and control via QSC's Q-Sys platform. With a host of input and output options, the GX5 works seamlessly in any audio environment.

Intuitive Interface For Quick Set Up

Getting great sound from the GX5 is made easy thanks to its straightforward rear-panel controls. Each channel features independent gain knobs to dial in the optimal level for your inputs. LED meters provide visual feedback for setting gain levels. The rear panel also includes a ground lift switch and master level control for the main outputs. With an interface designed for plug-and-play operation, the GX5 lets you focus on your performance instead of wrestling with overly complex controls.

Rugged Reliability For Demanding Applications

As with all QSC products, the GX5 is built to handle the most demanding live sound and installation needs. Its steel chassis and aluminum faceplate are durable yet lightweight. Advanced protection circuits guard against short circuits, DC faults, overheating, and overload. With a 3-year warranty and a reputation for rock-solid reliability, the GX5 delivers power you can depend on for any application.

Solid Power in Varying Conditions.

Let me start by saying my GX5 has seen about everything you can imagine in its short 6 week out of the box life. I live in Georgia and the heat and the humidity here are often pushing the heat index to well over 100 degrees. I have done 3 outdoor gigs with this amp pushing a pair of JBL JRX 115's and one JRX 118s and it pushes them beautifully. The built in Crossover is really nice because splitting it out at 100 hz really has helped me push my mids/highs harder to provide enough sound for the outdoor gigs. My GX5 has even been run from a 35 dollar power inverter from a retail giant who shall remain nameless and provided music for a beach party i had the privilage of DJing. This is an all around great amp with very versitile inputs and outputs that make it possible for anyone not playing at 2 ohms or bridging channels to have a great sound at a not so discouraging price. QSC has been great for me thus far and i am just about convinced that there no other power amp company that is worth my time. Thanks QSC

Very Short Lifespan Before Needed Repairs

I bought this amp in the Winter of 2017. Year and a half later, its introducing humm into my system. It was very difficult to trouble shoot. I caught it finally by changing out amplifiers. I bet the warranty is already gone as well. Class D amps Suck!

Ordered a brand new QSC GX5 and a pair of EVM12L Black Label speakers. Power amp arrived in an open box with no power cord. Was advised to arrange exchange at local GC. That's when I was informed al GX5's in stock are demos. No other QSC power amps in this class are in stock. So, I now have 2 EVM12L Black labels with no power supply. And, these speakers cannot be returned.

  • QSC GX5 and Guitar Center on 249 Rocks!

Just purchased a QSC GX5 power amplifier from Mary (store manager), and Akeyla (sorry if I misspelled). The amp rocks! I have been DJing for several years and Mary explained a lot of technical stuff regarding which amp to buy for my speakers. I actually had a more expensive product in mind, but after her explanation I went with the GX5. That says a lot for her character and integrity. Some folks would have simply sold me the more expensive amp just to make a profit. She helped educate me on the correct product which saved me money AND potentially saved my speakers if I bought the wrong amp. Way to go Mary and Akeyla and God bless!

I have this amp pushing a pair of JBL JRX215 speakers. Excellent clarity and punch. I have turned up the volume to a painful level and it hasn't clipped yet. Perfect match in my opinion. I love it.
