Description
Jumping Channels
Being a classic amplifier, the Studio JTM series is a 2-channel amplifier without traditional channel switching. Each channel has a high-sensitivity input, voiced to take a guitar with high-output pickups and a low-sensitivity input, voiced for a guitar with lower-output pickups having more gain and allowing you to take advantage of that increase in gain to go full rock 'n' roll. Each channel has its own tonal color and a master volume control. The Bass Mid and Treble controls are shared between the two channels.A lot of times you will see guitar players running a short jumper cable between the two channels of the amplifier. Doing this allows you to blend the tone of the two channels with the master volume controls taking full advantage of the amplifier’s capabilities.
This is accomplished by a very simple process. Plug your guitar on the low-sensitivity input of channel 1 Connect input 2 of channel 1 to input 1 of channel 2 using an instrument patch cable. You can then blend the channels by adjusting the channel volumes of the amplifier. Try it out for yourself to open the tonal capabilities of this amp.

I've always wanted a JTM 45, but the reissues are pricey and although true to the originals, not exactly home studio friendly. The Marshall Studio line has been a great thing in this regard so when they finally released the ST20H I was super excited. It sounds amazing. Great clean tone that can get you all the way to that classic Marshall drive (not crunchy like an JCM, but sweet). Add in a direct out and the effects loop and this thing is absolutely great. Don't expect a bedroom volume amp out of this one though. Even at the 5w power setting, it gets loud. Add the fact that it's absolutely sexy, and it's a win win for me.

I got this upgrade for my home studio. This setup accepts effects pedals very well. However, it sounds wonderful on its own. I love how Marshall gave it the vintage look also. That's my style. Plug in a Fender, A Gibson or anything with good pick ups and you're on top of the world rocking away.

I was skeptical getting one. I was looking for a low powered amp. Bring that the electronics are PCB I wasn't sure about the over tone. You want the Marshall sound, here it is. Compact an powerful enough go gig with. You won't be disappointed

Not only lighter then the original JTM, from a strictly visual perspective, better styling. However, that being said, styling is not why I adore this amp. The tones received when plugged in direct are stunning whether single coils or humbuckers. Overtones to die for. Get one.

Simply awesome! Been using combo amps and this was my first cab speaker. Learned a lot while setting it up. Way easy to set up and use. Though it would be heavy but it's easy to move around.
