Best amp I own. Can produce a ton of different sounds and has a bunch of pedal effects built into it. Love being able to get full amp sounds out of it at any volume (so does my wife :) ) You can find just about any tone you want from most amp/cab combo's out there as well. If you like tweaking settings there's a ton. if you like just playing like i do, there's also a ton of existing profiles that sound great.
Just awesome. My words cannot begin to describe this item!

I was surprised at the small size and weight of this unit. Don't let that fool you! This thing packs a punch! Any amp and cabinet you want is at your fingertips. Running through a Fender MustangV 4X12 cabinet is probably not the best setup but it still sounds amazing. Luckily I can run through my PA system at the same time and control the volume of each. I was speechless when I first ran it this way. I honestly felt like I was playing through a big concert setup. This thing will make the sound man exstatic. No mic on the cabinet means less hassle. This is actually the first time in my 40 years of playing that I've not had to deal with feedback at very high gain settings. The noise gate is one knob on the front of the Kemper and easily accessible. It really makes me want to play 80% more than I ever have.

I purchased this amp with the 600w powerhead after much deliberation. I couldn't be happier with my choice. In my home studio, I've got the Kemper set up in the control room to send main channel outs to the console for recording and monitoring, and the power amp output goes into the studio itself where the guitarist can hear it through a passive monitor or cabinet of their choice. After playing it on multiple profiles on several cabinets, I determined that my Marshall 4x12 cab with Celestion Green Backs actually gave me the least coloration of the sound compared to others. JBL passive floor wedges sound great at higher volumes but didn't portray the signal well when playing quietly. Through studio monitors, it is apparent that the profiling is astoundingly accurate. This little amp really does allow you to capture the genie in whatever bottle you might be opening, so long as you are willing to take the time to refine the profile during the sampling process. If a guitarist or bassist has their own rig, I can profile it with the Kemper and re-amp the recording later if needed since it easily allows you to send a clean unprocessed signal to the DAW. If they also have a Kemper, they can just save their rig onto a flash drive and not have to lug all of their equipment into the studio. My only regret is that I didn't buy the remote combo and Guitar Center doesn't presently sell the pedal remote separately. With that, I think it would be more convenient for the player in the studio to dial in whatever effects he likes, or set up transitions between profiles for one-take songs if recording with a full band.
Had my doubts, am now a believer

I had used other products years ago and they never really sounded all that great. The Kemper right out of the box had minimal set up, easy to start quick set to play. The depth you can go with this product is amazing. I just downloaded other user settings before even trying to copy my amps. There are so many great sounding free amos out there for the Kemper all that you can tweet and make your own. I had a small user hick up when trying to copy my own amp. Contacted Kemper support. And they were on it with quick friendly help and solutions. They actually seemed happy to spend time teaching helping a owner to use their product. They stand behind the product 110%. So anyways I got started profiling my amps and WOW! I had to tweet my amps a bit a few times to really get the exact tone I wanted but the Kemper sounded exactly like them! I didn't believe it. Then I played them both side by side and sure enough they sound exact. I didn't believe they could copy the full 100 watt sound and feel through headphones. They did it! Wow. Recording is so awesome with this cause you set up your tube heads and mice how you want them and bam they are in the Kemper! You want to play through a cab? Plug the power head Kemper up to it like a normal amp turn on the power amp switch and bam sounds exactly the same for recording or live performance!! Well done guys! Well done!!!

The KPA is one of the best musical inventions in quite some time. I spent some time with the AxeFx but didn't care for it much. To me, the KPA was a solid plug and play solution. I originally had the non powered version and ran through the return of an EVH 5150. It colored the sounded a bit, in particular for the clean tones. So, I decided to sell the EVH and get the powered KPA and haven't looked back. The distorted tones have lost a little bit of the low end, but you can adjust on the main output settings on the KPA to make up. This amp is amazing...I get annoyed when folks scrutinize if a particular rig is absolutely IDENTICAL to the real amp. 99% of the human population wont notice. The versatility and flexibility you have with the KPA overcomes any limitation in not having an identical profile of ONE single amp.

What's the difference between the powered and the regular Kemper?
The unpowered Kemper will still require a power source if using on a cabinet speaker set up.
