Essential, mine came out great - knock on wood ...
I bought my HT-40 MKii on November of 2019 - I am extremely happy with it. At the same time, I ordered this 5-button pedal, primarily for the boost option, but it was back-ordered and I just received it, almost 45 days after the original purchase, but 15 days before the original estimated delivery date (Jan 15th) The 2-button one which came with the amp is almost sufficient - I was disappointed it wasn't a 3-button one which enables the already built-in 6db boost in the amp - it is a shame and a silly marketing move to get people to buy the FS-14. That aside, I can't complain, I am satisfied with the FS-14 build quality, profile and functionality - to be honest I was a bit nervous due to all the negative comments regarding out-of-the-box defects. The boost is awesome, not TOO loud at all, it is well balanced. The reverb switch will definitely come in handy while playing live. Another great feature, which also should have been the case for the 2-button one, is that the cable is not built into the pedal, that is yet another bad design choice for the original (or maybe on purpose) - now I can stand 25 ft from my amp - that definitely got in the way in my last gig I think that if you are a gigging musician who uses the Blackstart HT-40 MKii as your main amp, the FS-14 is a must have to enable all the amp's functionalities. The boost is just invaluable for leads while playing live if you are not big on using the effects loop for boosting etc.

Great features but is tricky to use
After gigging with this footswitch and generally using it for about two years, I'm compelled to write this review. The footswitch has everything it needs to switch channels and get the range of tones from my Club 40 MKII. It also sits nicely in front of my pedal board (which leads to the downside of its size). The negatives are that the layout and build leave a lot to be desired. The buttons are toy-like and not very robust. You don't have a lot of feel for whether the button engaged. Worse than that, the indicator light is so close to the button that you have to do a toe tap dance just so you can see whether it engaged or not. My choice of shoes also seems to be critical due to the way the buttons engage. I've had several solos start without boost and attempted tone changes go awry because I didn't hit the button right or couldn't see that it wasn't on. I've used a lot of footswitches over the years and I've never had problems like this. Hopefully, they are developing something better as I love this amp. I have no choice but to recommend this to a friend as there is no alternative. I'm off to shop for some pointy toe clogs. Cheers.

There is no information online, in forums, or from Blackstar on how to get this pedal to work with any of the 5-button option amps.

Intermittent functionality made it not very dependable. I've had 2 that did the same thing. Tested on multiples amps

Its a great product if it were dependable. Lots of useful functions, but only works intermittently. Ive had 2 with the same issues, Ive tested it on multiple amps so its the [pedal not the amp it seems. .
Works with Blackstar HT 60 but could use some improvements.

The pedal works well with Blackstar HT60 and HT100 Venue series amplifiers,b ut could use some improvements: The light placement is too close to buttons and makes it difficult to see what is on when you press them. The buttons are not high quality and sometimes do not engage properly.
Great.... When it works.

I purchased a Blackstar HT Stage 60 MKii with this FS-14 Foot switch, to be a cheaper alternative to the Marshall JVM lineup. Sadly, the first TWO brand new foot switches I bought did not work. I had to open a ticket with Blackstar in the UK, who then sent me over to Korg USA, who finally supplied me with a working pedal. In a nutshell, the first two pedals did not program with the amp upon plugging in, and would never turn on at all. This switch uses a digital signal to switch the channels and voices as opposed to a hard physical connection. Now that I have a working one, I LOVE it. But wow... what a Journey.

Will this work with the HT Club 40? (Not the MKII edition)
The Blackstar HT-Club 40 Footswitch only has a channel button and a reverb button. This is not something we carry currently but we may be able to special order this from the manufacturer. Contact us for the pricing and availability contact us via phone, chat or email.
