These kits are born from the desire to create elegant, professional drums that have their priorities in order. These drums feature no gimmicks or proprietary tweaks, which often push prices higher while doing little to improve sound. This 3-piece kit is built to standby Rock sizes: 22” kick, 13” tom and 16” floor tom, for that booming sound that made maple drums a staple in American music.

Hand-Cut From 100% North American Maple

Barton is committed to never using third-party shells for any of their drums. They also avoid mixed formulas and fillers, designing each drum from the bottom up to get the most out of each tonewood. For this 3-piece Essentials maple kit, that means every one of these drums begins with pure North American maple, which is cut and shaped by hand into 7-ply shells. The hand-cut 45° bearing edges ensure the right balance between resonance and low-end wood tone.

Minimalist Vintage-Style Hardware

Barton fits each shell with a single row of “Bread and Butter” lugs, which are elegant but never flashy. The rack tom uses traditional mounting, so that nothing touches the shell except the drumhead and lugs. This also preserves the bass drum, which resonates with full maple tone without the dampening effect of heavy mounting hardware. The toms use 2.3 mm triple-flange hoops. The kick features finished wood hoops with claw hooks and folding rubber-tipped feet.

Finished With Care

From natural satin to vintage sparkle, every Barton finish is applied by hand. For the lacquer sparkle finishes, that means hand-rubbing the glitter onto the shell before applying gloss, ensuring an even coat and unique pattern for every drum. All wraps are genuine Bartex, for durability and authentic vintage pedigree.
