1 year later and I still love this amp, yet...

One year later and the Bad Cat Hot Cat has served me well with tone, portability, and gig friendly volume for large or small venues. My only critique is that the input is a bit sensitive on this amp which is why it sounds so clear and 3 dimentional. This sensitivity also makes the amp a bit touchy with gain pedals and boosts. My pedals tend to over-clip the input on the Bad Cat where as my other amps take the boost-gain into the front perfectly. AGAIN, the amp is crystal clear and a tone machine with plenty of gain on tap, just a bit reactive to the boost pedals but they can be set lower for better response.
Huge tone, versatility, and simplicity.

I have been searching for an amp that has exceptional tone, power, and portability. The new Bad Cat line is the answer! The Hot Cat 45 watt head on top of my vertical 2x12 cabinet is the solution for all my sessions and live playing. I have lugged around 100 watt half stacks for 30 years and needed a new solution. 45 watts is loud, generous on the bass end, and is a mobile 30 lbs. Now, the tones the Hot Cat produces are next level! Without changing the EQ I can get cleans, Vox like chime, Plexi crunch, and heavy dirt reminiscent of old VH II and Alice In Chains. The boost, reverb, and effects loop work perfectly. This amp has beefy transformers, a simple foot switch, and a choke in there too! BAD CAT has made something for everyone with the new line and surely the Black Cat, Lynx, and other models will serve their respective buyers well! Competitively priced against other custom shops out there, these amps are supreme!
