This stand is surprisingly sturdy given that it's the cheapest stand I could find. I use it for my Keystation Pro 88, which is a rather large and heavy midi controller (just under 50 lbs I believe), and the stand has stood firmly in place thus far. Only time will tell how reliable it is, but I have no complaints as of yet.

The stand is simple, sturdy, and inexpensive. I like the quick adjust settings. However if your playing style is even a little bit agressive, your keyboard will bounce around. Another problem is that the bottom of your keyboard needs to be flat. I have a Yamaha P-85 and the bottom is contoured in a few places. The keyboard slid all over the place in the lower stand positions. I just brought mine back and traded up for a platform stand.

A great stand. Can not beat the price. Extremely stable. Equal in build quality to many of the higher priced stands.

Better than expected

By Carl

Comments about On-Stage KS7190 Single-braced Stand:

I needed a stand for my keyboard at the house, but not want to spend alot of money. I read the reviews and bought this one sight unseen. It came in, I assembled the feet on it and was very pleasantly surprised how sturdy this stand is. The stand is not one to get overly rough with, but yet is strong enough to hold your keyboard and play it and not having to worry about it hitting the floor. Definately a good buy for the money!

    Comments about On-Stage KS7190 Single-braced Stand:

Get this stand if you want the much-sought-after experience of playing with your keyboard resting on top of a Jello mold. It's advertised as "perfect for lightweight keyboards", but I recently had the displeasure of playing a Casio Privia (one of the lightest full-sized keyboards available - and a decent one at that) that was set on this useless stand. The stand wobbles with every chord and even a beginnner would (hopefully) outgrow this stand within a couple years. Forget single-x stands altogether - they are a waste of money. Spend an extra $30-40 and get a sturdy double-x stand. It will support any keyboard you put on it and you can use it for at least a decade if you take care of it. In fact, avoid the low-priced "On Stage" products altogether. Beginners eventually stop being beginners and you will have wasted your money on a line of chintzy equipment you will quickly want to replace.

A good rule of thumb for keyboard stands -- if it looks cheap and flimsy, that's because it is.

    Stand not just for keyboard?

    By WayneS

    from San Diego

    Comments about On-Stage KS7190 Single-braced Stand:

The stand is well made, sturdy, and stable, but not as portable as one could wish-- the feet, and the keyboard supports, do not easily detach, and this makes it impossible to carry the stand in a bag. I've made a top for it, and use it as a lap steel stand. It works well.

    BEST BUY!

    By Anne Johnston-Brown

    from Los Angeles

    Comments about On-Stage KS7190 Single-braced Stand:

This stand is very light and portable... maybe a little too light when placed on an uneven surface, as it tends to slightly wobble in such cases. However, it is superb for touring and quick strikes. It is easily adjustable with its pull-knob, unlike other stands that are even more expensive, but must be adjusted with a screwdriver. I would DEFINITELY recommend this stand, for its price and portability.

    A great deal!

    By Toni Austin-Allen

    from McKinney, TX

    Comments about On-Stage KS7190 Single-braced Stand:

This stand is perfect for a smaller keyboard. It was super easy to assemble-very straightforward. There are very few parts to deal with, and the few bolts you do have to screw in are already in place so there is no guessing. A great deal!

    why I give 2 stars

    By Russell Howell

    from blaine,mn

    Comments about On-Stage KS7190 Single-braced Stand:

the stand seems to work fine for my daughter. The problem I had was when I put it together it was missing half the screws. I was told to send it back or drop it off to my local Guitar center. I said it will cost to much in gas and I could just go to my local hardware store and pick up the screws if they refund me 5 dollars, they said yes. Well I found the screws and was never refunded the 5 dollars.

    Needed a keyboard stand (!)

    By Jonathan B. Dwyer

    from Ossining, NY

    Comments about On-Stage KS7190 Single-braced Stand:

I am a horn player and a choral singer; I use my keyboard (an old Casio weighing about 8 lb) primarily for pitch, and arranging choral works. But for several years it has been rarely used, because I had no place to PUT IT. So I looked for a keyboard stand online, and found this one at Guitar Center. This stand is PERFECT -- well-constructed, the right size and weight, and I'm sure it is excellent for performing keyboardists. Everyone with an electronic keyboard should have one! I also found a good musicians' site -- Guitar Center.

        Comments about On-Stage KS7190 Single-braced Stand:

This product was used for just a few weeks on stage when the legs started to become wobbly. After tightening one of the legs with an allen wrench, the mounting block, which was attached by an inferior, small 1/8" spot weld, had broken loose. I'll repair it with epoxy and make it usable again, but...REALLY? DON"T BUY THIS STAND!

This product does what it's supposed to & is well constructed. The price isn't mind blowing, but fair.

I keep it in my home.

I can't vouch for heavy gigging.

        By Adam

        Comments about On-Stage KS7190 Single-braced Stand:

I'm new to keyboarding and I've never owned a stand before. I was nervous about buying the least expensive stand - and I shopped around, this is the least expensive one I could fine - but this assembled easily and seems to do the job as well as can be hoped.
