I purchased two of these cases. I am traveling the country in a 5th wheel trailer and needed something decent to store my guitars while traveling from place to place. I originally had a pair of soft sided cases, but they did not provide the protection I needed. These hard side cases are generic cases, not fitted for specific models. I have an Ibanez RG5EX1 and an ESP LTD H-330 and they both fit just fine. The interior of the case is covered in a soft black velour type of material. Not much in the way of padding, but the molded ABS plastic provides excellent case rigidity with no twist or flex. Ample support for the guitar neck with a pair of wraparound straps with Velcro that further aid in keeping the guitar from moving within the case.
Sturdy handle, lock with 2 keys, and three sets of chrome steel latches round out the hardware. There is no "hinged compartment" inside for hiding strings, winders, tuners, or tremolo arms, but there are two open cavities on either side of the neck for placing these items. What does this mean? Nothing, just FYI. When the lid goes closed and is latched, any small items in the case stay where you put them; they do not migrate inside the case. Regarding the price, the store applied a 10% military discount on my order. By the time the money was done changing hands I had a pair of sturdy, hard side, locking cases for almost the same price as a pair of soft case gig bags from Roadrunner.

I started playing guitar about 2 years ago and purchased some inexpensive guitars [ Squier Strat - Keith Urban Hard Body and Epiphone Limited Edition ] The Epiphone plays surprisingly well compared to the other two guitars which aren't bad so I decided to purchase a descent hard case to protect it . When I lay the Epiphone in the case between the thickness of the guitar body and the slant back of the guitar head the neck doesn't rest in the case cut out the guitar actually sits on the body and slant back guitar head and the neck is not in the neck cutout but instead it is suspended in the air so the only part touching the case is the guitar body and the very top of the slanted head . Solution is a deeper case with a more padded neck compartment . This design puts all the pressure on the top of the head and could very possibly crack the neck !! Now I put the Squier Strat in the case which has a much thinner body then the Epiphone, but the body sits so low in the case that the beginning of the neck hits the bottom of the neck compartment and holds the rest of the neck up off the case so now the guitar is sitting at a slant with the body of the guitar sitting in the case and the neck hitting the bottom of the neck compartment and the guitar ends up with the guitar neck and head not being supported but rather sitting up at and angle . Solution is a deeper and more padded neck compartment or put a piece of padding under the guitar body to level the guitar out so that the whole guitar neck is supported by the full length of the cases guitar neck compartment . The design of this case could actually damage certain guitars so make sure your guitar sits in there the way it should and is supported fully .

Comments about Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case:

A good case for the price, it will protect your guitar for home storage and light travel. This is not a case for airline travel or on the road gigs. It has a lot of nice features inside and out and in my opinion you get a lot of case for the price staying in the guidelines I mentioned above.

Comments about Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case:

This case is very well built and sturdy also it is the only case wide enough to fit the gax series guitars for a decent price. It's as if it were ment for this guitar. the curves in the case fit it like a glove and the neck grove is like a glove as well! Home run in my opinion!!!!

Comments about Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case:

A most excellent guitar case! I like this much better than their standard black case; it seems better constructed and feels pretty sturdy. I would not be worried about gigging with this one! Though I have a real soft spot for the tweed version, I'll be getting more of this ABS style.

Comments about Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case:

I purchased several of these cases when they were on sale and I'm very satisfied with them, especially at the sale price. I'm able to use them for several different brand (Tele/Strat/PRS SE) style guitars, and although they are not perfect fit cases, they still do the job well. I like the fact there is a velcro strap to hold the neck in place. I've had much worse cases and paid more for them. Considering Price to Value, this is a very decent case.

Comments about Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case:

Even with the recent price hike this is still a good case. Fits a Strat or Tele very well. Great neck support. The channel that lines up the lid should be sturdier... should line up better. This is now my go to case for storage. I have three for guitar and two for bass. If I'm travelling far I'll use the Fender cases... Fix the lid and that'll change. Thanks

Musicians Gear is the best value guitar case; quality and price. Fast safe shipping. Picked it up at the store. They even helped me unpack it and test the fit with my guitar. It was a perfect match for my new black Ibanez. I am very pleased with the service and products at Guitar Center. Great website!

Comments about Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case:

I was worried after reading from another reviewer that it would fit an epiphone les paul, but it fits my Epiphone Les Paul Special 2 just fine. I also love the fact that there is a velcro strap that goes across the neck of the guitar to keep the guitar steady in the case. The bummer is that there are no compartments that close, but there is room for a strap, an other accessories. I've been very careful with the case, so I can't say whether the case will protect your guitar from extreme damage, but it holds up well to everyday small impacts caused by a 5 year old and a 7 year old playing tag in your practice area.

I'm moving overseas and buying up some cheap cases to protect my gear. I bought the wooden shell version of this case and was impressed by the large amount of padding despite the weak shell so figured this one would have the good shell and padding. Not quite! The shell is good but the soft padding on the bottom is absent. Either way it'll do the job and for the sales price it was a good buy.
