Small and solid. Nothing bad to say. I'm going to end up buying a desktop boom stand, but for a standard small mic stand, this one does the trick. I use mine on my desktop for podcasting, but this could easily be used to mic a half stack or something like that. It's even got a nifty little clip to keep your mic cable out of your way.

Good, but not for all mics.

I have a large condenser mic. The base is not broad enough to stop it from tipping over. Maybe for a different style/size mic it would work well.

Can't really think of anything bad to say

By Dave

from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

I use this for my SM57 when I mic smaller amps. It's pretty stable and when extended all the way, it's about a foot high.

Solid Stand for the price

By Glen

from Birmingham Alabama

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

I picked up this stand for to use for my kick drum mic applications. Seems solid enough and for the price it was worth the chance. So far so good. The only thing that I ran into is the short boom that I use has a 3/8" female connection and the stand has a 5/8" male end. I had to pick up an adapter to merge the two pieces. Not really a problem, just an oversight on my part.

Great little stand

By Mark

from Duluth, GA

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

It's the perfect size and weight for mic'ing a kick drum, a guitar amp or holding a shotgun mic (a shotgun this low is perfect to set off stage to pick up tap-dance). It is definitely heavy enough to hold any mic that I can think of. I paired this up with On-Stage Stands MSA-8020 Boom Microphone Stand (#451006) to get a perfect little short boom combination at a much better price than any of the combos available.

Works fine

By Vicc

from Houston TX

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

This stand works just fine. It does what is supposed to do. The little clip to hold the cable is very useful as it keeps the cable from annoying you. I used this stand for home recording and live playing and is hard to knock it down. Bottom line, it works fine..

Doesn't Fit

By Eric

from SLC, UT

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

I thought these mic stands would be a standard size, so I was shocked when I received this and I can't connect the shock mount from my Behringer B-2 Pro. The top of the stand I received does not look quite like the one in the picture - maybe it's missing a part, I don't know - just waiting for Guitar Center tech support to help.

low profile mic stand

By Ken Whitcomb

from Palominas, AZ

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

I have started doing live recording of bands in the area, and this stand is great for a kick drum microphone. The heavy base makes it easy to position and is out of the way of other musicians, unlike the wide footprint of tripod style mic stands. The heavy duty construction should last forever.

Just what I needed

By Michael Sterling

from Huntington Beach, CA

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

I saw other stands at much higher prices - this is just the right hight and easy to use at a great price. Note - it doesn't include the mic holder but you probably have one that will fit it already.

Stand does not let me down

By Bruce Heath

from Tuskegee, AL

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

The stand has a solid metal base and will not tip over easily. The clip I bought for it screwed on with no problem.

Great Stand, Misleading Picture

By MARK SLAGLE

from Nashville, TN

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

This is a great little stand and a good value for the money. It is perfect for sitting on a desk to record. The adjustment feature is nice, too. The picture is misleading, however, as the cord clip pictured on the upright is not included. I contacted customer service by phone, but they were unable to help. I went to the store, and they gave me a clip at no charge, so I'm good to go now.

Perfect

By Adam

from Provo, UT

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

I didn't need anything fancy or too expensive, and this was just perfect! It's heavy duty and fits perfectly to mic underneath the snare or to mic up a combo amp. I would definitely buy another one.

Great stand for amp microphones

By Dr. Neal

from Newport News

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

Got 3 of these and they are great. Sturdy and work perfectly for getting microphones placed properly for amps. Get right into the sweet spot of the amp (Twin Reverb and also Super Reverb). Small footprint as opposed to collapsing stands. Very stable. Good value and they hold-up very well.

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

My main concern when I bought this stand was whether or not it would stand firmly without tipping over, but now it appears to work perfectly with my SM57/58. The whole thing when installed together weighs ca. 2.2 lbs.

Comments about Musician's Gear Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand:

I initially purchased this for presenters at a podium to use for narration through a PA System. It's built solid and the adjustable height worked well for the various speakers. With that event over I now plan to use it to place a mic in front of my amplifier for live gigs. It should work well for that application.
