Makes Anything Synthy

By Will Nelson

from Reva V

Comments about Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter:

This box can be used in many different situations. I have used with bass, vocals, guitar, and even ukulele. The resonance, envelope, and freq knob can dramatically alter your sound. Every time I use it i found a new cool sound. Can also be used on pre-recorded drums to give them a nice WARM analog sound.

Great filter

Comments about Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter:

This is a great wah for my bass. The sound can be changed from some subtle synth stuff to a real over the top funk sound and everything in between. It can also be used on everything else you want to use it on for just warming things up and making everything just sound better. I gave it a 4 and not a 5 because when the mix knob is anywhere to the left of 12 oclock, there is a substantial amount of noise that is present in the output. This has it's own character I guess and it is supposed to be a descendant of those old analog synths (which were noisy), but it really limits the use of that knob for me and I wish it didn't have this small problem. Oh well, I still love it on every source I use it on and I'd buy it again if I broke it. I also read a few things online about people who got theirs shielded somehow which cut down on the noise so I'll have to look into that. Awesome pedal.

Fantasic Filter

By K McQueen

from Leavenworth, KS

Comments about Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter:

I own many other Moog products and finally picked up the MF-101 to add to my control voltage set-up. The MF-101 does very well with the MF-102 (ring modulator) and MF-107 (FreqBox). To use it as a stand alone filter, I recommend using an expression pedal. Like other Moog products, it's of solid construction with a metal chassis and wood side panels --much like 1970s station wagon, but cooler. As far the sound goes, it tempers some of the harsher brillant timbres with ease. In 2-pole mode, it give my Q-Tron something to reckon with. Although, I think the Q-Tron has a more radical envelope repsonse. In 4-pole mode when the manual says mellow, it means mellow. I did make one mistake when I took it out of the box and started playing through it with a guitar and cranked the resonance. Yikes, what a reminder of a true analog filter. It will self resonate, indeed.
