Great sounding mini chorus

Comments about Mooer Ensemble King Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a really great sounding, versatile, chorus pedal. I haven't owned a CE-2, which is what I believe this pedal is based on, but I have compared it to several other chorus pedals including the MXR analog chorus and a EHX Neo Clone. I didn't care for the MXR at all. I recommend getting this if you are looking for a more 80's chorus (The Cure) and get the Neo Clone if you are looking for a 90's chorus sound (Nirvana).

Comments about Mooer Ensemble King Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

I love a pure tune amp tone but getting the saturation and boost at lower volumes can be difficult. The sugar drive maintains my amps natural tonal qualities but saturated them and gives me the boost that I need. I play a hardtail strat with lace blue silver red pickups and a blackstar ht5r. Sound punchy, deep, and wicked with glassy cleans when I want them. I use it always on or for that lead tone that cuts through depending on the venue and music I am playing. I was using a soul food and I am a big Electro-Harmonix fan but the soul food sounds slightly robotic and fake compared to the natural sound of the sugar drive. Both pedals sound super similar though as they are trying to emulate a Klon.

      Decent sounding analog chorus

Comments about Mooer Ensemble King Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've had this pedal for a couple years now and compared to other chorus pedals I've tried, the mooer ensemble king creates smooth chorusing effect without altering your tone. I notice maybe a slight attenuation in the highs but nothing serious. Although the knobs are quite small, once dialed in I was able to get a nice modulation that sounded good both clean and distorted. Other chorus pedals I've used tend to either have a slight boost, which can cause some distortion, or have a slight volume drop. I also appreciate the true bypass switch, as many older chorus pedals I've tried with a buffered bypass tend to drain some of the power from your tone when they're switched off. I find this is most obvious when using heavy distortion and run thru the fx loop of an amp. Hopefully this pedal will last a long time but I have tried a few different mooer pedals and so far haven't noticed any problems with them. They seem to be a more solid design than some of the others mini pedal clone companies. And as far as analog vs digital, I always tend to prefer analog but there are a few digital choruses that I've found useful. But generally, analogy chorus sounds more natural and smooth especially with distortion. I'm always searching for the perfect chorus sound and will probably continue to search but this one definitely is a keeper for me.

OK for a very basic chorus. Not much depth.
