Mooer micro preamps are sonically accurate digital recreations of the preamp sections of popular tube amplifiers. They were developed by directly analyzing real tube amplifiers using a technology to capture their sound, dynamics and response. Each Micro Preamp comes complete with dual channels, integrated speaker cabinet simulation and dual operating modes to suit the needs of all users.
Initially Mooer is releasing a set of 10 models, each based on a different popular tube amplifier from a range of manufacturers. These have been designed to be used with the upcoming Mooer power amp or in the effects return of any standard guitar amplifier. The speaker cab simulation allows the user to connect direct to a soundcard, powered monitor or P.A. without the need for a guitar amp or speaker cab at all.

Comments about Mooer Blacknight Micro Preamp:
These little pedals are amazing - well, some more than others. I have tried four and the Blacknight (Engl Blackmore clone) is one of the best.
For home recording purposes, I use this in conjunction with the power amp/cab IRs in the Wall of Sound III plug in, and it sounds very convincing, especially with a boost pedal added before it. For playing with a band, the best use for this is to run it into an amp (ideally, a tube amp) FX Return jack. Think of this as a replacement for your existing amp's pre-amp section. You can route all compressor, boost type pedals into this pedal, and all time-based delays/mods after it. For live, you can also run it with a Mooer Radar or Torpedo C.A.B. straight into the board, or use it with a power amp and cabinet of choice, as explained above. In my case, however, my tube amp is the Mesa/Boogie Mark V:35 and I love the sound and tonal flexibility it offers, so I don't use the Blacknight or other pre-amp pedals in the series for playing live. You may have other views, though.
They do, however, allow me the flexibility to add interesting tones while recording at home. That said, I can see the utility and convenience these little pedals offer to get different, fairly-realistic sounds that faithfully mimic the amps they aim to copy (emulate?) in a live setting. Finally, the others in the series worth checking out for rock/metal are the Tow Rock, Cali Dual, the Cali- MK3. Not that impressed with the Fifty-Fifty/Brown Sound (5150 clone), but others use it for metal as well.
Again, if you have a great tube amp that you like, then you're set; however, if you want to emulate the sound of various amps in your recordings (or live set up), then give these a try. They're worth it! Hop ethis was useful.
