I needed a good Guitar in a hurry and after reading the reviews on this one. Guitar Center got it to me Overnight for next to nothing on shipping. It was well worth the wait...Plays nice and smooth just as good as some of the higher dollar instruments.

I bought this guitar 2 months ago. Played well, right out of the box! Changed the strings. I have played many higher priced guitars that don't sound or feel as good.

Comments about Mitchell Element Series ME1ACE Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

But the loud resonant tone and playability kept me playing. I've looked at this line of mitchell a few times now and it keeps pulling me back. I bounce between this and a similar priced ibanez artwood mahog and a $1k taylor and a $1.5k martin dca. Both these low end guitars stay very competitive with the big boys. Almost as good playability and although not the same tone, a very good but different tone. The maple binding is a real eye catching feature but that wouldn't matter if it didn't sound good. I think a lot of the resonance is the lighter weight that results from the thinner finish. Will it cure the itch for a taylor or martin?
I'm just not sure but I suspect in some cases it would be close.

Comments about Mitchell Element Series ME1ACE Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I'm not sure if it's just my guitar, but it has many flaws. When I first bought the guitar, I saw that the wood didn't look as whole, but I thought it was just the design. It turns out that it wasn't. The finish wasn't nice and smooth as most guitars. Another thing is that strings are always going out of tune. I've had this guitar for months, and I know that you have to tune them every week or so, but it has to be tuned every time I pick it up. Speaking of tuning, the electric tuners are slow and most of the time inaccurate. I tested it with a clip-on tuner and the clip-on did a better job of indicating the precision of the note. One of the positive things I can say about this guitar is that it has a loud, rich sound. The body and texture of the guitar is nice.

Comments about Mitchell Element Series ME1ACE Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was initially hesitant about this guitar, but I've grown to love it. The sapele back is incredibly resonant, which takes a little getting used to. It's amazing how much sound this (comparatively) small guitar puts out. If you are looking for a guitar to mostly strum (as opposed to fingerpick), this is probably not the guitar for you. It reminds me, in a way, more of a banjo or steel guitar - it produces a lot of sound, which makes it ideal for fingerpicking, but not so much for strumming.

The wood is really beautiful, though it does have a few rough edges (this is mostly annoying, it doesn't affect the sound)...the edges will soften with time, though, so I'm not concerned. It's really convenient having the built-in tuner. It does go out of tune more often than I'd like, but it's not too bad.

I have changed my playing style in order to keep the guitar...which sounds kind of odd, but for me, at least, it has worked out really well. I'm forced to come up with more original sounding guitar parts, rather than just falling back on strumming. If fingerpicking doesn't suit you, then this probably isn't the guitar for you. Bottom line, I've found that this guitar has a unique sound, which I really appreciate.

I like the comfortable size of this guitar. It sounds and looks great. Definitely has issues with ghost tones on upper frets though. The matte finish is beautiful.
