Now I'm gonna come clean and say this is one of the worst chinas I've ever used. I'm not sure if I don't like this cymbal because I'm used to my AAX Sabian china, but like the majority of the HCS Meinl series, the issue is attack and the dynamics. And when it comes down to chinas, it's very important that they have both of these key features. To me, it doesn't sound like a cymbal at all, and in my ears, sounds more like kitchen pan. There is very little attack, does not respond well to dynamics, and there is just an overall lack of response. It is not trashy at all, and unless if you hit it obsessively hard, the sound is very flat. It isn't durable either, and it dented only after the first use. I've had better luck using wuhan chinas, and I wouldn't normally buy anything outside the "main four" cymbal companies due to the lack of trust. Either way, there are positive reviews for this cymbal, so I guess someone likes these, but I wouldn't miss the cymbal if it was stolen. Probably wouldn't even report it. Otherwise, I'll say try to find something else if you can avoid it.

Comments about Meinl HCS China Cymbal:

Im new to drumming and for my First China I have to say it sounds pretty cool. This Cymbal has a sort of Gong-y sound to it, so keep that in mind.

Another Great Cymbal From Meinl

By Joel Sheppard

from Ohio

Comments about Meinl HCS China Cymbal:

I bought this cymbal mainly because of the price, but also because I love my other Meinl cymbal. It was exactly what I had expected. Not really "gong like" but not super trashy. On a scale of trashiness, I'd give it a 6 out of ten. I purchased a 12 inch, but I'm sure the bigger the better. Definitely another great cymbal from Meinl!

Comments about Meinl HCS China Cymbal:

I bought this cymbal for my son as a back up. He is a heavy hitter and this cymbal was bent all the way around by the time he finished his first song.

I've had this cymbal for about 3 monthes. I think for the price it is a prett good cymbal!I think this cymbal is great for people who dont have much experience with china cymbals. This one has a nice bright sound to it and it also has a little bit of a gong sound to it. I definatly recomend this cymbal! Its worth it! Hope you found this helpful!

The cymbal is great for any type of music. Although if your looking for a trashy, loud slpash this isnt it. It kinda has a gong sound but is an AMAZING cymabl for the price! I play metal and it works perfect for it! Hope this helps!

          from Ohio

Comments about Meinl HCS China Cymbal:

These are a good quality cymbals great for the price but the thing is it just isn't loud enough I'll hit it as hard as and it will still sound the same as I normally hit it good for starters though.
