This guitar is sweet the build quality is amazing. I was looking for a short scale guitar to compliment my other guitars. played the baby Taylor which to me didn't sound full enough, then the MartinLX1 which had a much warmer and a little deeper tone after a few trips to Guitar Center in Arlington heights Illinois and playing more guitars My heart settled on the LX1, since I perform onstage and also at small gatherings , Adam at the Arlington Heights store recommended the LX1E acoustic electric. once plugged in I was blown away by the rich fullness and that great martin sound don't get me wrong unplugged it sounds rich and clear like it's big brothers. but when plugged into an amp the on board Fishman really produces an awesome sound , everyone who hears this little gem cannot believe the rich clear sound produced by this little Martin when plugged in Thanks again to Adam and the Arlington Heights Illinois Guitar Center Staff . Like Adam stated You don't find the guitar, the Guitar finds You . would highly recommend this little beauty

I had this guitar to start off, and I played for about 3 years (then I took a break) and the guitar cracked near the hole and it was noticeable. I kept it most with a humidifier, I took it back to get a free swap because of the protection plan, but then it happened again. So I've had two of these guitars and both of them cracked in the same place.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Previous experience with acoustics = Epiphone dreadnought-style
Also own = Fender, Epi, and Ibanez electrics

The Martin's dimunitive size might trigger Freudian-esque responses from onlookers, but it punches above its weight. It's an acoustic you can play without having to spoon it, which describes almost precisely the feel of the Epi dreadnought I traded.

If the Martin has a weakness, its short scale seems to require a little more pressure from the fret hand than larger guitars. But I expect most players will realize that going in.

And it sounds as rich as its larger cousins, not like a ukelele.

It does use a 9V battery.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

My 17-y-o has been playing on a fairly good full-sized guitar for over a year now, and has gotten pretty good. The size of this one has made a positive difference in his playing ability & that, coupled with the increase in sound quality has already boosted his confidence. Whether for travel or for full-time play, this guitar is so much more comfortable that we'd recommend it to anyone who loves the instrument.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar sounds and feels solid. Has good range for a smaller guitar. Doesn't sound tinny. I also have a Baby Taylor BT2 and the Martin is a better guitar. The Taylor is a large ukulele and the Little Martin plays like a real guitar. I changed the strings to Elixirs and sanded down the saddle.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is actually my second little Martin. I had one of the early lxm models that I absolutely loved (and rather stupidly sold) and this one has proved to sound just as good and of course have the electric pickup that makes this a gig able little travel guitar. I do have two small gripes that keep it from 5 stars for me. One was mine had a small issue with a few notes on the neck causing a rattle in the battery compartment. It was a pretty simple hack to fix I just wrapped the battery in a dryer sheet and now zero buzz. I do feel like it shouldn't have been an issue in a $400+ guitar especially from Martin. And second is just that the older electric little Martin's had a built in tuner and the new system doesn't which isn't the end of the world I just think it would be convenient in a travel guitar to not have to carry a clip tuner or pull my phone out to tune. Other than me being nitpicky the sound is great the playability is great and it's a guitar that I'll be taking everywhere from now on.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Ordered this on line GC and kept my fingers crossed I'd receive a good one ( flat neck / low action / no buzz / no blemishes - it arrived perfect ! Had a Taylor mini Gs koa at home as well from GC purchased a week earlier and knew I couldn't or did not want to keep both / the moment(s)of truth side by side and both played back an forth / I returned the Taylor / would of done so even if it was less money / I like the Martin better for a few reasons - the 1.75 nut verse Taylors smaller (?) nut-strings felt crowded , the 24 inch scale rather than Taylors 23 1/2 ( also more room ) / The Martin is made of all solid woods an braced , the Taylor is not / the Taylor gig bag is night an day better than what Martin sends along with there guitar / The built in tuner was nice on the Taylor but wasn't gonna sway me / as far as amplified neither stood out as better than the other / Taylors GS body versus the dread jr had less volume ( even though koa is brighter ) I loved the gs it's a great guitar . I own other Taylors that I'm keeping but the Martin I chose as the keeper of small guitars - I'm happy with my choice / you can't go wrong with this guitar
