collapse expand iconDescription

The 2016 Martin LX1 Little Martin acoustic guitar is perfect for musicians on the move as its modified O-style body is expertly crafted from solid spruce and mahogany-pattern HPL, yielding a surprisingly lush tone for such a small guitar. The LX1's 23" scale length and low-profile neck provide a loose, comfortable feel for players of all sizes.

Solid Spruce Top Radiates Crisp, Balanced Tone

The LX1 Little Martin's solid spruce top is the foundation for its impressive tone. Spruce is a preferred top wood for acoustics thanks to its ability to produce a clear, articulate sound with a balanced frequency response. Despite its diminutive size, the LX1 projects with surprising volume and sustain. Single notes ring out with piano-like clarity while full chords bloom with rich overtones.

Mahogany-Pattern HPL: Resilient and Resonant

The LX1's mahogany-pattern high-pressure laminate back and sides are made to withstand the rigors of the road. HPL is an ultradurable material resistant to temperature and humidity changes. Yet its mahogany-inspired grain pattern also enhances the guitar's warm, punchy midrange. The result is an instrument built for adventuring that still sounds and plays like a traditional acoustic.

Comfortably Compact

With a 23" scale length, 1-11/16" nut width and modified low oval neck profile, the LX1 Little Martin acoustic is tailored for maximum comfort. Its compact size rests easy on smaller frames, while the slim nut width and low-profile neck play fast and familiar for most guitarists. Whether practicing, performing or enjoying leisurely playing, the LX1's ergonomic design keeps you cozy for the long haul.

Hand-Rubbed Finish Accents the Wood's Beauty

A hand-rubbed satin finish graces the LX1 Little Martin, protecting the wood while highlighting its natural beauty. The thin, matte coat allows the spruce and mahogany-pattern HPL to resonate freely. Visually, the satin sheen gives an understated elegance to the LX1's rustic charm. Overall, the hand-rubbed finish complements both the tone and aesthetic of this small but mighty acoustic.

I've been playing acoustic guitar for 15 years, and I've owned one of these for 12 years. My main rig is a Taylor 517, that's a high end $$$ Taylor guitar. This Martin is my most fun guitar to play. Sure my Taylor sounds better and has better intonation, but I play this Martin 5X as often. I take this guitar camping. I'm teaching my daughter how to play guitar on this guitar. When I got bored with guitar, this guitar sucked me back in. Money well spent.

I leave it out on a guitar stand, it's my go to guitar whenever I have the need to do a little strumming or noodling, easy to play and sounds great! I would buy all my grandkids one, if I had the money!,

I got this Guitar as a gift from my guitar club teacher and let me tell you it's a really good one. I'm a bit small for my age so the size and everything is perfect. would recommend if you have small hands and smaller figure. Special thanks to my guitar club teacher this meant a lot :)

I'm not a great guitarist but good enough to tell you that this is a very good quality guitar. It sounds a lot bigger than it is. The sound is crisp. The gig bag is a nice addition as well. I'm very happy with this purchase. I mean it's a Martin!

I haven't played in a few years but the pandemic had me searching for something to get my mind off working crazy hours. There would be few guitars I'd buy sight unseen but I rolled the dice because I'd played Martin's first backpacking incarnation and was familiar with their quality. This little guitar wouldn't disappoint! It is a smaller scale but my fingers fit on the fret board and it's easy to just leave out and pick up when you need it. The sound is really good for the size and it's easy to strum or pick. It was exactly what I was looking for but a little more. I honestly didn't expect to be this happy with how much guitar I got for the price. If you need something to stick by the desk or play by the fire, this is a good option

The Gator Flight Pro TSA Series ATA Molded Acoustic Guitar Case would work well and be a good choice.

I would love to have a "mini" but I am afraid it will be difficult to play. I am getting older and it seems that all my current guitars are a little harder to play these days. Is the fret board a smaller dimension?
