Introducing the Remastered X Series

Martin Guitar Nazareth Factory Tour Part 1

Martin Guitar Nazareth Factory Tour Part 2

Description
With the DX2E Brazilian 12-string, Martin brings their renowned dreadnought body shape and impressive projection to the world of 12-string guitars. This acoustic-electric guitar combines vintage looks with modern playability enhancements, making it a versatile 12-string companion. The solid spruce top is hand rubbed to a smooth satin finish, while Martin's scalloped X-bracing pattern allows the top to vibrate freely. The Brazilian rosewood-inspired high-pressure laminate back and sides are built to withstand life on the road so musicians can rely on the DX2E night after night.

With HPL Back and Sides, the DX2E is Resonant and Road-Ready
You'll appreciate the DX2E's high-pressure laminate back and sides in a striking Brazilian rosewood aesthetic. The resilient HPL is crafted to resonate like wood while standing up to climate changes and rugged travel conditions. Consistency is key with 12-string guitars, and the HPL back and sides maintain their integrity so the DX2E sounds its absolute best every time you uncase it.

Get a Complex Tone and Shimmering Overtones With 12 Strings
Double the strings brings double the tonal complexity, sustain and harmonic richness. Strumming the DX2E reveals the quintessential 12-string shimmer. The octave courses let single notes sing out while adding airy sustain. When playing chords, you'll hear a kaleidoscope of complex overtones that elate the ear. While it takes finesse to tame a 12-string, Martin gave the DX2E a fast neck and smooth feel to make playing easier. The sonic payoff is huge, especially when amplifying the DX2E through the onboard electronics.

A Slim Neck Profile and 16" Radius for Easy Playing
The DX2E's neck has Martin's Performing Artist profile that's slightly slimmer for comfortable shaping of chords across the 12 strings. Its flatter 16" radius fingerboard has refined string spacing between the courses. These enhancements create a playing feel familiar to 6-string guitarists. The gently beveled fingerboard edges allow smooth, unimpeded runs up the neck. The 1-7/8" nut width provides ample room between the string courses.

Onboard Electronics That Easily Amplify the 12-String Sound
The built-in Martin E-1 electronics make it simple to plug the DX2E straight into a PA system. It comes equipped with an undersaddle pickup that accurately conveys the guitar's entire tonal range. The onboard preamp provides volume, tone and phase controls so you can shape your amplified tone. With the 1/4" output, you're ready to fill rooms with your robust 12-string sound.
For guitarists wanting impressive projection and complex 12-string tone in a road-ready package, the Martin DX2E Brazilian 12-string delivers.

I don't consider myself an expert at anything. Least of all guitars. But I am experienced with them. I own Martins, Guilds, Yamahas, Taylors, Epiphones, a Godin, and some vintage as well. This is part of Martins X series. So its HPL back and sides. The HPL is a resin based material. I'm not going to go in to the advantages and disadvantage here. You can read up on that. These are made in Mexico not Nazareth, Pa. So far, I'm very impressed. It has a solid wood top, what appears to be a solid neck, an attractive rosewood overlay on top of the HPL (not real rosewood), satin tuners, pearl sound hole treatment. Looks great. Fit and finish is very good. Sounds like a Martin. Plug and play ready. I'm going to have a set up done. But playable out of the box. Really nice. Designed to be gigged etc.. Not your heirloom Martin. But perfect for its mission.
