Comments about Martin 17 Series 00L-17E Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Fun, Songwriting, all around jamming.

I really love this guitar. I've owned several Martin's in my time and this is probably my favorite thus far. Small playable body with big sound. Love the look and feel. The Black Smoke is such a beautiful color option and it really just looks as fantastic as I think it sounds.

Comments about Martin 17 Series 00L-17E Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I absolutely love this guitar. Although this is bought by a lot of finger blues guys — I'm a couch strummer. I had a Gibson J-15 (nothing bad to say about that guitar) but found it was just a bit big and cumbersome sitting on the couch. This guitar is just easy to play, lightweight, and a nice, short scale.

Comments about Martin 17 Series 00L-17E Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this for my wife for her to both finger pick and flat pick. It's a wonderful instrument that's built really well, as is the case with all American made, solid wood Martin guitars. The 00-L has a little bit more of a shoulder than the 00-S and has a pickguard, which the 00-S doesn't. She hasn't had a chance to play with the electronics yet, but they have a lovely low-profile and the 9v battery is very accessible through the back of the guitar so you won't have to stick your fingers through the sound hole to change it out. It's got a punch of a sound, louder than I expected, but also well balanced. The simplicity of design is exquisite and I especially like the "Whiskey Sunset" matte finish.
