Great sounding amp with a lot of power for how small it is. Had a lot of fun with this amp until about a year after I bought it. The distortion would only work sometimes, then after a while the distortion was weak. There was a really bad buzzing noise on the overdrive channel and when I turn the volume up past 3 it squeals. It's really annoying. The clean channel is still great though.
While deciding on playing an outside gig with some family members I got a chance to practice up on one of these little MG 15CD amps. To say the least I was impressed with the sound I got out of it. Good sounding distortion and was able to clean up really nice so I decided to use it in the family jam. I did use the emulated line out to a bigger amp with 2 12's for the fullness but all the sound came from the MG 15. I liked it so much I want one of my own for at home....and an MG 100DFX for playing out. Marshall has come along way with their solid state technology...they're worth taking a look at.
THIS AMP ROCKS!!! I brought this amp about a year and a half ago and haven't been disappointed. It's great for gigs- Loud and light to carry around. Although it lacks some features it's great for beginners and gigs. Overall great amp and affordable.
This is an excellent amp for anyone who needs a small practice amp, whether it is a subsitute inbetween sets with your stack, or if your a beginner guitarist. The distortion and clean channels both sound great and get really loud. The eq is very good on this amp. The line in and line out, including the headphone jack are great features to have and sound great. After a few years I still love using this amp in my room for practice.
This is a great amp if you are just starting or if you have been playing for awail with close nabors. The features are good and it has great sound. I have had it for years and I still use it. Great buy for the price I highly recomend it.
I got this amp two years ago as a gift and don't think I would pick it out myself. It has a very hard sound, good for metal. But if your trying to get that smooth sound, it takes some effort. Generally it sounds better when it?s quieter. After a certain point the bass takes over when set louder. But when the bass is quiet enough to actually hear, the treble can hurt your ears. I think this amp is fine for beginners and maybe ok for some hobbyists.
This amp has great tone for a practice "sized" amp. I was expecting a cheap little amp to practice on but was pleasently suprised to find I prefer the tone to my line 6 spider 3. I run this little monster as a preamp into anything else I plug into.
