Overview

For full-on performance, the Marshall 100W MG100HCFX head will let you perform like a pro while going easy on your pocket. This impressive head is the pinnacle of the MG range.

Its front panel features are the same as the MGs from MG50CFX upwards, combining tried-and-tested solid-state tonal circuitry with awesome digital FX.

The MG100HCFX's incredible selection of FX is switchable using Marshall's revolutionary Stompware footswitching technology developed originally for the JVM Series amps.

One of the reasons tube amps "feel" so good is the way the power stage interacts with speakers-allowing them to behave differently depending on the frequency being played. Most solid-state power stages don't do this and so feel "stiff" to the player. All MG power stages successfully simulate this desirable valve amp characteristic using Marshall's Frequency Dependent Dampening technology (FDD).

My 30 watt Line6 combo blows this thing away. It sounds WAY better. I said better, not louder. The Line6 has way better distortion, way more bite, way more highs/treble. This thing here is all mud. Awful! ;-(

Maybe it's the cab, but even through the headphones, there's still no comparison. This thing has no tone at all. Absolutely terrible.

Comments about Marshall MG100HCFX 100W Head with MG412CF 4x12 Cab:

Nice looking exterior and good wire management. The 100W /head has several effects and tap delay configurations that will have you creating sounds from heaven to hell...
The 4X12 Cab gives you the punch to take that creativity and turn it into a sound wave of your very own.
The features I like the best is that I comes w/ a foot pedal. I also like the reverse delay sound you can make. The damper feature is killer and the 2 different reverb options you can play with.
I also like the price I paid and felt that this was a good deal. This is my first Marshall and I am very Impressed coming from a long time line6 heritage.
Also would like to add that the GC off Anderson in Austin is the best one out of the 3 located in the surrounding Austin area.

Comments about Marshall MG100HCFX 100W Head with MG412CF 4x12 Cab:

I bought this amp about a month ago and have not had any problems with it at all. I have a 2013 les paul special that I play through this amp. The both of them deliver exactly what I was looking for. I was a little disappointed to find out the amp head was made in Vietnam when the GC website said it was made in England. I went to GC about a week later after receiving the amp to order covers for it and was told Marshall does not make covers for this amp so I had to settle for covers for a different marshall amp. They are a little large for my amp head and cabinet but I guess is better than being too small. Still I give it five stars because the amp itself is very nice. Just as you would expect from Marshall. I would also like to mention that the GC staff at the Covina Ca. store were very professional.

Comments about Marshall MG100HCFX 100W Head with MG412CF 4x12 Cab:

I've had tube amps in the past and was tired of the maintenance and expenses. I've had this for over a year now, and like I said in the header this amp is a beast! Super powerful, and you get great tones! I've never been a pedal guy, I keep my rigs minimalistic. I plug in and play. The overdrive is amazing, and the dampening adds a special boost that sounds sick! Don't believe those that say "tube is the best"....this amp is the best. After Every gig I have people asking about the head and that can't believe its solid state. And it's very versatile. I play a Fender 50's reissue modified strat, 1990 Gibson Les Paul Studio, and a 1965 Gibson Melody Maker modified with a Duncan antiquity. All sound phenomenal! Get this amp now!!

I use this amp at my apartment. I'm the neighbor that keeps everyone else awake, but I love it. It's not horrible for a budget Marshall. I always dreamed of having one so I took the opportunity to pick this up with a little liquor money. It has some slight delays in adjustments, and is a solid-state. I get creative and just use all kinds of alternatives settings to adjust the tone to my likings. It's no all-tube JCM, but it's a fun amp to have for a college student. Definitely plan on buying another Marshall for sure.

I LOVE YOU MARSHALL. A lot more of a stack than I was expecting. Great sound on both the clean and crunchy settings. Buy it if you want to play Deep Purple or Zeppelin etc. -- probably the best for that. Still good for jazz, I think, but explore around and check the sound in store first.

I owned this amp a few years ago, ended up selling it and replacing it with a Peavey XXL. Amp sounds ok, biggest problem I had with it was that it was very dark sounding (especially on the OD channels) and made it difficult to be heard in a mix (for hard rock/prog style). But, it is definitely a great amp for starters or beginners, especially with the added on FX.

Store and they said i had to pay 75$ for shipping to get it to my house because they didnt have one on hand. Well american musical supply online ships for free for the same price. I called and had to wait 20 mins for a guy to finally say we will refund your shipping cost. Never again guitar center. You lost my business.

This Amp is amazing.. First of the digital effects are awesome and the AMP is quiet.. I do recommend that you purchase the ( Marshall MG4 Series Stompware Guitar Footcontroller Footswitch )
This footcontroller really pushes this amp to the next level.

The Overdrive 2 is awesome and no need for more distortion or crunch because this bad boy delivers..
Also included is the speaker cables to connect the cabs. I only say this because it does not indicate on the site that they are included..

Novice player with longer background in sound production. I think it's a very good product that performs well on a wide range of playing styles, but if you're looking for something that's excellent at just one thing (say, a great jazz amp), this may not be it.
