Overview

Get more punch and crunch with this Marshall full stack featuring a JVM410H Tube Amp Head with a 1960AV/1960BV Full Stack.

JVM410H Tube Amp Head

In a nutshell, the Marshall all-valve, 4-channel JVM410H 100-Watt tube head is the most versatile Marshall amplifier ever made. It also boasts more gain than any other Marshall to date--and that's really saying something!

Each of its 4 channels - Clean, Crunch, OD1 & OD2 - are not only completely independent of each other, they all boast 3 Modes, all 12 of which are footswitchable and feature their own unique gain structure. It makes the JVM 4-channel effectively 12 Marshalls in one!

The JVM410H amp head has studio-quality digital reverb with a level control for each channel. This is also footswitchable, as are the amp's two Master Volume controls and the Series/Parallel effects loop. Resonance and Presence are equipped with master controls.

Even though the head and combo both house 28 controls and 8 LED switches on their front panels, they're incredibly simple to understand because of the extremely logical layout. Each of the 4 channels has the usual suspects when it comes to controls - Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble & Gain--accounting for 20 of the 28 controls right away. Take away the 4 reverb controls and you're only left with 4 Master controls--2 Master Volumes plus Resonance & Presence.

Add to this an ingenious footswitch (UK patent pending) and the fact all the amp's switching (channel/modes, Reverb, Master Volume selection, FX loop) can be done via MIDI and you're looking at an incredibly flexible amp! The 6-way footswitch boasts 7 LEDs and memory, plus it connects to the amp via a regular guitar cable.

From the cleanest clean to the filthiest distortion ever found in a Marshall and all points in-between, the JVM410H all-valve amp head will give you whatever tone you need right when you need it.JVM410H Tube Amp Head

Awsome Amp!!

Comments about Marshall JVM410H, 1960AV, and 1960BV Tube Guitar Full Stack:

I've had this amplifier about 2 years now and couldn't be happier with any other amp. The 4 channels offer almost too much tonal variety, but I have used every one of them at one point or another. You can dial in any sound you want, it really is like having several amps in one package. As far as powerful amps go, this beast is definitely the loudest I have ever played. I have only been able to get it up to 7 before things are literally being shaken off of the walls. Don't be threatened by it's power though, this amp can be as quiet as you like without diminishing the tone in any way. If you are looking for the most versatile high end tube amplifier around then look no further. You simply can't beat a Marshall.

Comments about Marshall JVM410H, 1960AV, and 1960BV Tube Guitar Full Stack:

Have played a full Marshall stack with V30 speakers when the JVM410H was first introduced a decade ago, in 2007. It was so good that another JVM410H and one more cab (for a half stack rig) were acquired in 2008. 'Already played through a Bogner full stack beginning slightly earlier (awesome). 'Still playing through all the above. Very content. I don't mind sweating the details prior to acquiring gear - - 'played through everything, and even went on some factory tours. Virtually all of the quality tube amp manufacturers produce products of comparable awesomeness. I've A - B'd various amps, including the above mentioned JVM410H and Bogner XTC. The tone and dynamics, from clean to dirty, are virtually identical. The amount of amp hiss at full preamp gain levels is identical. Noise gates take care of hiss and unintended feedback.

The JVM410H is easy to use, but not for the first thirty minutes. The foot switch programming system requires a small learning curve. It's 10/10 for tone and dynamic feel. Probably the best feature compared to most other full stack tube amps, is the volume control capability for each channel (along with the overall volume boost feature). Basically, each amp channel is controllable such that the amp as a whole is its own mixing console. Some other amps with this capability, including the Bogner, are very touchy on the volume, meaning that the slightest adjustment will increase or decrease the volume of the channel drastically, making it more challenging to get the mix just right. On the JVM410H the pots are scaled linearly so pot adjustments result in less volume change. This makes it very easy to get the desired mix between the various channels. The reverb is great.

For many players a two channel amp, with excellent overdrive and clean channels, is all that is needed (because effects pedals can be used to fill out the palette). The JVM410H may be unnecessarily complicating your rig. For me it simplifies - fewer pedals.
