Brought to you by Marshall, the CODE50 combo amp delivers 50W of punch through a custom 12" speaker. This innovative amp combines digitally modeled preamps, power amps, and speaker cabinets from Marshall's most legendary amplifiers with studio-quality effects to provide an endless array of tonal possibilities. Guitarists can now enjoy the coveted tones of the JTM45, Bluesbreaker, Silver Jubilee and more in a compact, lightweight package.

MST Modeling Recreates Marshall Magic

Marshall teamed up with audio software pioneers Softube to develop Marshall-Softube (MST) modeling technology. MST preamps, power amps, and speaker cabinets are highly accurate digital recreations of Marshall's most acclaimed amplifiers and cabinets. The CODE50 features 14 MST preamps including the JTM45, Bluesbreaker, Silver Jubilee, and JCM800. It also provides 4 MST power amps—EL34, 5881, EL84 and 6L6—and 8 MST speaker cabinet simulations ranging from a tight 1x12 to a roaring 4x12.

24 Effects for Endless Tonal Possibilities

The CODE50 is equipped with 24 studio-quality effects to inspire new sounds. It offers essential effects like reverb, delay, chorus and tremolo as well as classic stompbox distortions and a compressor. The tap tempo delay and reverb allow for precise control over effect times. By combining different MST preamps, power amps, cabinets and effects, guitarists can craft hard-hitting high-gain tones, glassy cleans and everything in between.

Connect and Control

The CODE50 was designed for connectivity and control. It features USB and Bluetooth connectivity to provide remote control of all the amp's functions via the Marshall Gateway app. The app offers access to an online community, video tutorials and patch sharing. Guitarists can also connect MP3 players, streaming devices, and more to the CODE50's aux input to jam along with music. For private practice or direct recording, the headphone output delivers the same iconic tones without making a sound.

A Portable Powerhouse

Despite its impressive features, the CODE50 weighs only 28.6 pounds, making it ideal for gigging guitarists and students on the go. It packs 50W of power into a compact frame with a stylish vinyl covering. is thrilled to offer the Marshall CODE50, a portable amplifier that puts the coveted tones of rock legends right at your fingertips.

Excellent Modeling Amp, But...

I'm writing this for those who are considering the Code series, particularly the 50. If you're planning on not leaving the home you can suffice with the Code 25, no problem. On the other hand, if you think you'll be playing out or at least jamming with friends and need some volume, then this is the one to buy, especially with the small difference in price. I've owned many modeling amps over the years and this amp does the best job by far at mimicking the wonderful tube amps made by Marshall since the sixties. But there's a cost to such nirvana, and that's the amount of time to dial in the tones if you're seeking realism. It's not as much a plug-n-play as you might think they would've created, and many of the presets are plain terrible, but if you're patient and seek advice from those who know better (there are many forums out there to help) in how specific amps sound, you'll be rewarded with tones the competitors could only wish for in their amps. The other side, of course, is you create your own sounds and enjoy with minimal effort. My Code 50 is built solidly, performs flawlessly, and offers amenities that pretty much today's current modelers gives you: amp tones from other companies, built-in tuner, headphone out, aux in, USB for firmware updates and the ability to record on your computer, and a footswitch-option to plug in their new series pedal. Did I mention it looks killer as well? Perfect match for my Les Paul too. The Code is definitely worth trying out if and when enough product shows up in the stores!

STILL Considering ?? Prob NOT!

After reading a review of the Bluetooth app NOT being compatible with my Android phone is only the first problem! Second problem! I was told to download the app to see if it works? I did and the instructions say "Marshal" has the right to use all text & phone contacts ect.. Hey Marshall ! When you send me a copy of your CIA credentials I will consider allowing you to see "My Professional contacts ! Until then ! Not happening ! IF GC doesn't post this ,,, I will continually post it on other social media sites ! You people give up all your data so easily why not just send me your credit card to use too!

Plenty of presets! Mobile app definitely makes things easier. Nearly endless preamp, effects, power amp & cab options. USB is a nice feature.

This review is for the Marshall Code 50. Had some issues with the Bluetooth at first which gives you access to many user presets. But after a software update everything works great. Thing really sounds amazing when you get things adjusted. Most of the factory presets aren't great besides the marshal ones. But thanks to the app, there are tons of presets that are great, you can get an AC30, clean fender, even John5s JTM. The official Marshall presets line the JTM45 are great. Only issues is the master volume is kinda lacking at the low end, but not really a huge deal. For the price this thing kicks! Very close to the Boss Katana, but if your looking for the Marshall tone the code 50 does it better for cheeper. Again, update the software. Pretty easy to do. I think it initially flipped since the initial software was bugged.

  • Great amp for practice or entertaining.

I currently have the Code 50 and really like the options on this amp. I want to upgrade the speaker to a Celestion. The specs say 50w 4 ohm. Would an 8 ohm speaker work with this amp??

Yes. But if you go to 8 ohms your wattage will be reduced by about half. You've doubled the resistance to the speaker.

Hi! My daughter recently started playing bass and has a little headphone amp, but wants a regular one. Is this a guitar or bass amp? Or does combo mean "both?" I am totally clueless about this!

No. This is not a bass amp. Combo means the amp and speaker are in one package. It's great your daughter is playing the bass. Please see "Acoustic B100C 1X12 100W Bass Combo with Tilt-Back Cab Black". This is one of the best. Give us a call if you would like some help.877 687 5403

What is the best amp for genuine Marshall tone the MG vs the Code series ?

    Open Reply - Ronald
Either one will have a great, genuine Marshall tone, but the Code would probably be a bit better of an options due to having a lot more options as far as tones go.
