Markbass Strings are made at their factory in San Giovanni, Teatino (Italy), using the best selected innovative materials and ultimate quality controls matched with the ancient tradition of master string makers. Their artistry and know how have been exported worldwide as well, offering a superior product with exceptional performance, amazing feeling, intonation and reliability.

The BALANCED strings series has been developed in collaboration with artist Paolo "Pi" Costa to offer sets with the best string-to-string tone and feeling balance. Markbass created this magical blend mixing stainless steel bright and rich of harmonics tone with the warm and deep nickel sound, in fact these strings multiple wounds feature just the external one made by nickel-plated steel, covering the stainless steel ones underneath. 

Being one of the most requested Italian session musicians, Paolo is known for being a perfectionist and for his high standards. Markbass did many test and studio recordings with him to carefully match those standards, offering a super balanced tone to take studio-tuned perfection to live stage performances.

    After using the same strings for 20 years I thought I'd try something different. I like these strings. They didn't come out of the box with a bright ring. After a couple weeks they still have the same tonal qualities. There's not a big difference between open strings and fretted strings.
