Comments about Mapex Armory Series Daisy Cutter Snare Drum 14 x 6.5:

I've alIways wanted a hand hammered snare because of how cool they look and I found a used one on Guitarcenter.com for a great price. It's a little beat up but it sounds incredible. I put a Evans Power Center Reverse Dot head on it and it sounds like a hammer but still musical. It's got a solid punch. Great job Mapex and Guitar Center for having a used one.

Comments about Mapex Armory Series Daisy Cutter Snare Drum 14 x 6.5:

This has now been my main guitar for roughly a year now and I have to say I still love it as much as day one. I own plenty of vastly more expensive guitars than this one yet have found myself always coming back to this one. Twin Blacktop humbuckers and coil tapped with a 3 way there is literally nothing that this guitar is not capable of doing. There is a certain clarity this guitar achieves that few of my others can compare to. When recording my last album in production this consistently beat out my Gibson Les Paul and therefore became the main guitar. Bridge is unstable but its a Jazzmaster so yeah of coarse the bridge is unstable.

          • The Cure Disintegration Snare tone

Comments about Mapex Armory Series Daisy Cutter Snare Drum 14 x 6.5:

I had somewhat rolled the dice on this one but playing live much more often I needed something with greater cut and depth than the Tama Birch Snare that I have. This really does the trick, weighs a ton and has the sound to match, I had really expected to have some major overtone issues like all Steel Snares yet this really has no issues. To me this sounds just like the snare on The Cure's Disintegration. Ill also say that this sounds great and has a lot of cut uptuned as well. Also recording with this snare it seems mesh much better with the EQ than my previous, its not fighting it.
