The Mapex LT628S Armory Series shell pack, featuring a fusion of birch and maple shells for unparalleled tone and projection. The SONIClear bearing edge allows drum heads to sit perfectly flat, optimizing resonance and response. This versatile 6-piece shell pack includes a 22x18" bass drum, 10x7" and 12x8" toms, 14x12" and 16x14" floor toms with SONIClear legs, and a 14x5.5" Armory Tomahawk steel snare.

Hybrid Shells Provide Depth and Clarity

Birch provides punchy attack while maple adds warmth and sustain. Mapex crafts the LT628S Armory Series shells from these ideal pairings, fused into a single ply for tonal complexity with clarity. The shells' thin walls encourage resonance at a range of tunings.

SONIClear Bearing Edge Optimizes Drum Head Performance

The SONIClear bearing edge allows drum heads to sit perfectly flat against shells. This optimized contact area means wider tonal range, longer sustain and minimal dampening. Drum heads speak with full resonance, for recordings and live shows where every nuance matters.

Floor Toms Deliver Stability and Projection

The LT628S Armory Series' 14x12" and 16x14" floor toms feature SONIClear floor tom legs for stability on any surface. Their low-mass design avoids impeding resonance. The floor toms' large diameters provide cavernous low end with penetrating attack—ideal for drum fills that need to cut through loud stages.

Additional Specifications

This 6-piece shell pack also includes 10x7" and 12x8" mounted toms, a 14x5.5" Armory Tomahawk steel snare and two TH800 tom mounts. Triple-flanged steel hoops provide durability and tuning stability.

    This drum set is worth every penny and more. Have loved it since the first time I played it. Big deep sound. Well constructed. One of my favorite kits I've ever owned

    I purchased this kit from Guitar Center Naperville and could not be more satisfied with it. The sound is incredible, as good as any DW or Tama I have played. The build quality and features are comparable to the most expensive kits you will see at the store. I think the only real difference I see between this kit and a $3,000 to $5,000 kit is a super fancy shell finish. The UT Remo heads that come with the kit are very good, they do not need need to be upgraded, but I did put Evans EC2 clear heads on and they rip. I had been playing a late 70's Slingerland which I recently sold and I have been blown away by the tone, function and playability with the Mapex Armory, it is just way more fun and a lot easier to play this kit. I have to say drum kits have become much more affordable since I got into drums 30 years ago. An inexpensive kit is still about the same price as an inexpensive kit in the 90's despite inflation and the build and tone quality is light years better now. Mapex drums and hardware are a phenomenal value, as good as Tama and DW now. Anyone who disagrees probably just paid too much.

    I literally have to peel myself off of the kit each time I play it. The kit sounds loud and articulate and the caribean burst finish is beautiful. I love the birch/maple combo as it delivers exactly was it boasts it can do.

    Is it a full kit with throne cymbals stands and all the goodies

    I’m sorry but no. Shell packs are only the drums. There is no hardware, cymbals or pedals included.

    What is a shell pack

    A "Shell Pack" is a set of just the wooden shells - the drums. There is no hardware (stands, pedals) or brass (cymbals) included.

    define "Two tom mount TH800s" Are those the stands that hold the toms or mount allowing them to be mounted to the toms. This seems to suggest these are the mounts for the toms. If not why would you sell the toms without mounts?

    It is not the stand(s). The TH800 is attached to the stand. It is a separate piece. They are included. The stands are not included.
