Overview

Magic Reed Intermediate Oboe Reeds are handmade and finished to near professional standards. Stopping where they do produces a reed that speaks well, plays beautifully and lasts a long time. It absolutely helps developing players sound their best, and does so at a price that is much gentler than professional symphonic-level oboe reeds.

Magic Reed draws from their professional grade medium light to medium strength cane and creates a reed with warmth, nuance, balance, and an easier response than the professional alternative. This medium option is designed for aspiring players with at least 18 months experience and a developing embouchure.

The medium light option is just right for motivated players who want to sound their best while they are still putting it together (typically with 6-18 months experience). Both options are finished over several drying cycles to promote stability and are tested on a Loree oboe.
